@adrianroam95 we all watch these vids, even we the Europieans do not worry my friend.I find these vids extraordinary, american roads are like europieans just put 2 or 3 more lanes into the roads structure : ) Just kidding of course,to watch tthese vids is like a dream, especially these ones within the California/Los Angeles.I prefer California.Tonight I came across these vids for the first time and I'm stunned! I do the full screen and give myself over to the incredible trip. Thanks ScrewdUPclick.
@ddraguti TEXAS is not flat . our lowest elevation in texas is about 5 feet below to sea level eleavations , to a max of nearly 9k feet. which is higher than any elevation in the Appalachian Mountains by 3000k feet. on the eastern coast . conclusion. we have higher elevations than more than 50% of any other state. florida is flat , that would be a perfect assumption
@ScrewdUPClickV2 I see, Florida is flat not Texas, well ok if that is so, I'll check it thru videos and thru Google Earth map of Texas for some overall insight. This way or another it's a long way to go till I get everything I want here on You Tube, the search across America has yet to start : )
@ddraguti This video by searching this exactly ( I-10w A Trip Through West Texas ) which is one of mine . will give you a perfect example of the common terrain in west texas . nearly 500 miles of i-10 from san antonio to el paso is like that .
@ScrewdUPClickV2 ah it was you ScrewdUPClickV2. I didn't notice it was you in the first reply lol,I thought it was adrianroam95 everything is going fast on You Tube so are replies.Well of course that I'll take a look at it,I need to stop typing first: ) I intend to watch all your videos if able to come across all your collection here.
@ddraguti our terrain defantly doesnt look like California you are correct there. Texas has gradual elevation assends and decends . we dont have any terrain that goes 1k to 4k feet in 5 miles that i am aware of. but elevation changes can go 1k to 3k in about 50 miles or so in western texas which is real common..
@ScrewdUPClickV2 I see that you have some exact and interesting informations about your state, however as a Europiean I have some troubles with those "k"-es or "feets" (miles are ok),cannot orientate instantly but never mind. In fact I recall that I once travelled virtually across the Texas,it was with BigRigTravels-Live truckcam, the route went from Houston(I think) and was headed to Utah, near the Salt lake City. And yes there were mountains, hills whatever. So interesting to folllow then.
@adrianroam95 you would be surprised , some people just watch these vids when they search for a city becuase of there intrest .. its a good way to see a city too , not just roads
@HoltCalifornia i guess so , however i spent a lil over 4 days in the los angeles area, and noticed hardly any issues traffic , its nothing that would be a concern over despite the area's web of interstate's and highways. the only freeway that is a major concern there is i-5 south of los angeles.
@HoltCalifornia afterall every major american city always has its peak and rush hour periods . los angeles is no different that any other , just on a more major scale.
@keerliiwilliams thanks for watching , since you love la so much , may i suggest subn , because i have many more la , and cali vids coming in the future .
This is one of my favorites. The 110 was one of my favorite freeways to travel between the business district, the rapid transit viaduct, and the huge 105 interchange. Has the same music as freewaybrent's 1-8 video, which is another of my favorite drives. Great vid!
beautiful video! it looks like the HOV lanes could possible extend further into the city one day? the beginning where the lanes start the bridge has a stub on the end.
Excellent stability with your camcorder, great commentary, and visual graphics, not to mention two of the greatest civil engineering achievements in the U.S.A., with both the 4 lane elevated HOV viaduct, and perhaps the most sprawling interchange in the world, in the I-105/I-110 interchange.
@Freewayjim to be honest . these elevated sections here are bigger in the fact that they hold 4 lanes of traffic . but the ones in houston are much taller 2-3 times taller . i wouldnt compare one to the other .. there both unique .. as for this interchange . compared to the dallas high 5 , looks on the video are decieving .. i think this int is about the same in every aspect
@Freewayjim true , but i gotta give credit to caltrans for building a 4 lane elevated highway 50 feet in the air for 1.2 miles .. in a earthquake prone region .
@Freewayjim dont get me wrong i think the dallas high 5 is a remarkable interchange ,, but it only sprawls 6 main lanes on us-75 level .. take this interchange and it sprawls atleast 12 lanes if not more. and same with my other favorite the katy belt stack 14-16 lanes at the i-10 level . in my eyes i take this into consideration when i start to judge a interchange over another , not so much in height to over sprawlign size .. imo the dallas high5 looks amazing because its crammed packed style
@ScrewdUPClickV2 -That's what gives the high-five the edge for me, the fact that the main levels are stacked but some of the approach ramps are a mile long, plus the color scheme and the graceful curves, it's more aesthetically pleasing to look at than most others in its class. Talking about spread out, the I-45/TX-8 South is as spread out a 5-Level stack as I've ever seen.
@CosmoPhotography exactly .. i ws telln brent about this , this is a achievement that absolutely amazing .. 2 lanes i wouldnt think much about it . but wow
@mfastx tht takes many many years .. actually the weather help fully in capable of it , but however most of them over 15ft are destroyed due to our hurricane issue's
I-110 is one of the coolest rides (if it's moving)
Did you know Los Angeles actually has one of the least developed freeway systems in the US, when you compare lane mileage to population? Similar to New York City.
@Cyrus992 Absolutely. 80% of the cost of expanding freeways in Los Angeles is buying up the land. California is reluctant to use eminent domain as well.
@danie123182 i cant get over how they place homes within feet of a freewy . i mean i dont understand why you would want that ?not to mention when expansion time is in need , you have just hit a brick wall literaly
@ScrewdUPClickV2 Well I Most of the freeway right of ways were figured in the 50's and have been expanded all the way to the max. They had room for expansion when they were built but have already used it all up. The newer areas in the inland empire have alot of room for expansion and even some places with frontage roads but they were planned and built in the later 70s and early 80s.
@aswchris i drove this freeway numerous times throughout the day and over a few days .. with the exception of a rush period .. it was always heavy but moving the speed limit, as the same with every la freeway

Great video, loved the ride. As impressive as the I-105/I-110 interchange is I gotta give the slight edge to the High-Five in Dallas.
