This year I went on holiday to the Colorado .... my relatives were very concerned when the weather got bad and I was in the Area of DENVER where there was a Tornado-danger ... and there was one ... they said.
Well the only think I noticed the weather was really bad and DARK ... but in Holland that doesn't mean anything except bad weather rain and hail .... so I really did not think twice. Later they said I should have parked my car and go lie down in the ditch for safety
This was probably an F-0 tornado with winds around 75 to 80 mph. If it was F-2 his house would have taken a good hit. Your lucky the window did not shatter, I would be like F this, I'm moving away from the glass.

There are way more tornadoes in Europe than they fought, now we also have more severe weather forecast organisations like ESTOFEX and SKYWARN and of course many chasers (spotters).
@Daymack Judging by the damage, the Hautmont tornado might have rated somewhere around an F1 or F2. While size is not a great indicator, this tornado's path of destruction was not wide and rooftops near the tornado appeared to be largely unaffected. Granted, those homes in the way of this tornado were destroyed, the debris fields were very small. While serious tornadoes can strike anywhere, Europe does not have a good mix of hot and cold air masses to produce violent tornadoes like in the US.

the closest thing to a tornado ive been in is a minature dust devil :P
only reason i havent seen a tornado is because i live in ireland

that tornado couldn't have been any stronger than an F1, if it was you would be gone! but well done for getting that close to a tornada of that strength because even though they are weak, F1s can still be dangerous. ive never seen one because i live in england, even though england is prone to tornadoes, the chances of having one are rare but i would love to see one someday :)
