I remember hearing that Pixar wanted to have Jim Carrey voice Buzz but he was out of their budget. I'm not slamming Jim Carrey or anything, he's an awesome actor, but I think he would have ruined Buzz and made him too silly. Anyway, yes Tim Allen did an amazing job with voicing Buzz and I can never imagine anyone else to do the job.
