  • that is the most mental chord cycle ever _ i never know what voicing s to pick _

  • the first "electric" guitar genius.

  • The First guitar genius? What about Les Paul, Chet Atkins, although Jimi is a genius he was not the first :).

  • Jimi wasn't the first guitar genius..

  • DAMN VIDEO Y U NO LOAD??

  • god damn the ignorance on these comments is stupid. first jimi did not know any theory but he didnt sound amazing just because he had big hands and a good ear, he slept with his guitar his whole life from a young kid and practiced everyday he picked up all this great stuff from playing in so many blues and r and b bands. I agree the first thats just stupid, but jimi was a genuis i mean he didnt know any theory and wrote all this great stuff. But one thing for sure he knew what he was doing!

  • Jimi had very little knowledge of guitar theory period>He basically played off the cuff.

  • Sounds a little like Shooting Star by Bad Company

  • very nice lick. but in which scale is it? thanx

  • @Plipas i think C. Anyone?

  • could you at least let us see what notes your hitting?? cause it takes me like 5 minutes to work out where your fingers are

  • @littlebeachLAS time to quit guitar.

  • @brownbigb did i say that i couldn't learn it? i'm 14 yrs old learning university grade music, i started when i was 9. it's a bit too late to quit guitar now :/

  • @littlebeachLAS then what were you bitching about?

  • @brownbigb you see the notes he is hitting with his fingers but you dont know how many notes he holds underneath...

  • im pretty good at guitar but I wish he would actually tell us what he was playing. im new to this particular style and learning it by ear ever after seeing his hands is pretty tough

  • @HeroicD23 that just means you are not very good. can't get much easier than this.

  • this is a very useful look at using partial chords with embellishments--I will get a lot of mileage out of it--thanks.

  • Hey jmulma your are correct those are the fore-fathers of a guitar player and they are the Greek Gods of Guitar playing...

  • The notes are right but Hendrix's rhythm is not stiff like yours. Work on your feel first before making a tutorial video.

  • people need to chill. theory or not, th guitar is meant to be played, so play it however you feel it needs to be utilized. peace

  • You lost me at first guitar Genius, you don't have to leave rock to find them Clapton and Beck unarguably, unless you are an idiot . bye!

  • I wouldn't consider Jimi a genius. He had no idea what he was doing when he picked up a guitar. He just happen to have huge hands and an AMAZING ear which carried him all the way.

  • @teccdeccdude231

stop thinking with your spatula man!

  • @teccdeccdude231 not true, jimi hendrix actually knew musical theory..

  • @ctjoao Yes, but he was very limited compared to Page and some of the other virtuosos.

  • @teccdeccdude231 page is hardly a virtuoso. as sloppy as it gets. he has hard time picking the same string he is fretting.

  • @teccdeccdude231 you don't have to know theory to be a brilliant musician you don't know this?? my problem with this guys statement is there were lots of Rock guitar genius, and so many Jazz and blues, !!

  • I guess everybody learns differently, but i like when the key is immediately identified and the chord changes involved are named. Just watching a hand sliding around on the neck, even repeated a lot, doesn't give me much info.

Thank you, though - it's a nice lick.

  • @pyannaguy it should. if you have a hard time getting it from this, you are not any good.

  • lol... my audio control on my pc was up half a step... dumb moment :)

  • Why are you tuned up a half step?

  • song?

  • What the fuck is with people asking for tabs in videos like this. Shit, you may as well give this guy your guitar so can he play it for you too.

  • @masterofktulu11 maybe its because their computers are to slow to "fuckelyfuckfuckafaggoting" follow hi shand while moving, stop making american comments

  • @masterofktulu11 exactly. can't believe how many idiots want tabs for playing 3 notes.

  • this needs sum more cow bell.....

  • Very nice, Thank you for posting.

  • what's called the thing that he puts his guitar beside of the fret board the maroon color?

  • @deathpedal Hairband I guess

  • @deathpedal It is a fabric band that is used when soloing to mute the ring of the open strings if their sound is not desired. Only the fretted notes will sound, the rest are muted, so you can strum freely without extra noise. I use mine when I use high gain and the guitar gets noisy.

  • @jgrizz14 yea, especially with "weaker" mikes, wich screams like hell when your not holding down any strings - stops you from looking cool ´front of the mirror :)

  • needs more cowbell

  • I don't see why you'd learn this, just listen to wind cries mary and learn the solo it sound's alot better and it's actually by Jimi hendrix.

  • sounds halfway between jimi and a grateful dead song

  • Even if jimi wasnt the first genius he was still the best...prove me wrong

  • @hsousa54 sure no problem, Jeff Loomis.

  • @hsousa54 how is it false, is it false just because in your opinion jimmy is better than loomis ? just watch the videos, jeff is better in technique and in the feeling of his riffs, but again u will say thats false because its not your OPINION. we are both wrong, but i do kno jimmy is not the best guitarist, simple as that

  • First guitar genius????? LOL. That is quite a big statement and actually quite laughable.

  • @tecnolover2642 I think the problem here is semantics. For his era, Jimi did something quite 'genius', much in the same way that Robert Johnson did during his time and Chuck Berry did during his time, etc. It ultimately comes down to the listener as to their particular tastes.

  • @jmulma well even if that is true Jimi is better then all of those guys combined

  • Anybody know what kind of guitar that is? i'm likin the natural look...

  • What are the tabs...I'm blind

  • @ArcaneArteest Well... If you are blind, I'm pretty sure tabs will be useless for you :/

  • @andybc94 Not true, I'm able to highlight areas I've preset (like tabs or notes) and I can have my computer speak out each note for me, so even though I can't see them, I can hear them. And right now I can't follow these notes well because they don't sound very familiar, however I can still learn them.

  • um why does he have a hair tie on the end of his fingerboard

  • Best one

  • Is this an actual hendrix song?

  • @TheBurgerShack solo to Little Wing I think

  • @Greenorblack something similar to it but I don't think he is playing it the way Hendrix wrote it probably due to copyrights and stuff so he changed it to avoid the infringement but be similar i guess

  • The first guitar genius? Oh dear...

  • what's his guitar tuned in? an what kind of distorting is he using?

  • jimi henrix was definetly not the first guitar genius. what about django reinhardt (however u spell it) or robert johnson, shit what about Andres Segovia

  • @jmulma Wes Montgomery, Les Paul, the list goes on...lol

  • @jmulma "electric guitar genius" would deffinitely be a better term

  • @jmulma yea robert johnson for sure.

  • @jmulma I agree. What about Chuck Berry and Wes Montgomery?

  • @jmulma charlie christian probably the first electric guitar genious, he did play the first electric guitar, and beasted it

  • @onlyeyesabove Love CC.

  • @jmulma or fernando sor, or tarrega

  • @jmulma I'll give you that. When you sit there and film this stuff for 8-10 hours a shot you can get a little loopy :) Sorry!

  • @jmulma jimmi powned all those fags ... ur gay for mentioning them

  • @noooblover Jimi ;)

  • @jmulma After he said that I was going to mention alot of older guitar players before Hendrix but you pretty much cleared it up.

  • @jmulma i love django

  • @jmulma maybe he meant first electric guitar genius, but even then he's wrong.

  • @TheElMendigo he's not necessarily wrong. although it was a bold statement, if that his opinion it's his opinion. i was just stating mine.

  • @jmulma Maybe I was a bit too final. You're right, if that's his opinion and he can believe it if he wants. Even if he is wrong...

  • @jmulma holy shit! Your comment just made my day. I am so glad to see that other youtubers know about Andres Segovia, Django reinhardt, and Robert Johnson. I'm so sick of hearing the same guitarists over and over again. Except for Jimi Hendrix of course.

  • @jmulma

    shut up smartass! lol

  • @jmulma or even les paul he was the basically the father of electric guitars

  • @jmulma We are talking about rock, jimi and clapton are the first genius in rock music. Reinhardt is a jazz player, robert johnson is a delta blues guitarists and andres segovia is classical. We are talking about rock.

  • @jmulma And also Francisco Tarrega, Eddie Lang, Charlie Christian, George van Eps on and on. The guy doing the video is retarded.

  • @jmulma Yeah man, Jimi was just an important revolution in rock guitar...Almost evolutionary.

  • @jmulma i guess he is refering to rock music

  • @jmulma Or Mauro Giuliani or Matteo Carcassi or Fernando Sor.

  • @LucasGonzalezTube Fuck yeah, finally Sor gets credit. I mean, aside from writing the pieces that Segovia will compile into the book that will single-handedly teach almost every classical guitarist from that point forward.

  • @MegaCalvinHobbes I never said he didn't. But I believe is quite likely that the amount of people that think Hendrix is the best guitarist in history is far greater than the amount of peope that know Sor.

  • @LucasGonzalezTube I was agreeing with you. :P I said that last but to explain why he deserved more credit.

  • @MegaCalvinHobbes I thought you were being sarcastic. Do you play guitar?

  • @LucasGonzalezTube Re-reading the comment, I can see how t comes off as sarcastic. Sorry about that.

Yes, I do play guitar. I actually learned how to play classical guitar with Carcassi's and Sor's studies a while ago. Those books are amazing, and it really shows how good they were.

  • @MegaCalvinHobbes I'm trying to learn using Carlevaro's and Giulliani's method. I'll try the ones you mentioned. Take care. :)

  • @LucasGonzalezTube You too bro. I've never played Carlevaro's, but I've played some pieces of Guilliani's. Very good, if I say so myself.

  • @jmulma not the first, but for sure the most memorable, lol.

  • @jmulma i agree, he wasn't the first. i think he was the best tho

  • what are the tabs to these licks??

  • @adamx12345 look at his hands.

  • i tried, it doesnt sound right

  • use your ear and your eyes. it'll help your playing.

  • Comment removed

  • does anyone know what song this is??

  • this is out of the wind cries mary on are you experianced.

  • it sounds like it could be from wind cries mary but i dont believe so... i honestly dont think its in any song, i think this is just a lick that uses the same chords and style that jimi used
