Our pug Bandit will not even think about going towards the water, he jumped off the dock at the lake house once when he was younger and sunk straight to the bottom before my mom stuck her hand down and pulled him up. He doesn't swim.

I wish I can take my pug to the beach... :( I live in INdonesia and the religion of Indonesia keeps distance from dogs so I can't take my pug to a beach. I live in Jakarta now but when I used to live in Surabaya, the other dog I kept which is now under the care my dad's friend went to the beach with me once cuz in the holidays I wen to Semarang by train and they don't rlly care abt a dog onboard. No extra money. But in Jakarta, if i take a train, it takes one day to go to Semarang so i can't.:(

@pipo721 I take my pug to the beach all the time, she also swims in the ocean and digs in the sand. Just wash there faces with a warm cloth when you get home, and brush the sand out of there coats....It's best if you just give them a bath

I LOVE taking my pug tithe beach :D I just recentley started taking him down there. I only go at night though ( or around when it's gettig dark cuz idk if he's aloud at my beach lmfao XD ) he was taking a drink out of the lake and a wave came up and he came out soaking wet... Not a pleasant smell for the ride home lol

The few times he has come to the beach with us, he has come in the water for a short time, and theres nothing wrong with that. Its just cruel to exclude them from the fun because ur too paranoid. I think I know how to look after my pug thank you..

@theguy782 And btw the cause of infections on their face is if you dont clean their creased skin about their nose / under their eyes carefully daily with a wet wipe then dry ones to dry it after. And also if you dont check their ears daily and clean them if they're dirty. I think u should be worrying about your own pug if you dont wash his face properly, the bacteria will cause bad infection/irritation. & I cant even imagine the smell! So please, educate urself before u go giving out false info.
