This is why Leann Rimes is one of my favorite singers ever! Even when she was real young she it made seem effortless, she just opened her mouth and nothing but pure magic came out when she sang!
The song is about sadness and vulnerability, and nobody puts that across like Dolly. Whitney sings it like a song of triumph, great voice, but misses the point. This version is better than Whitney, not as good as Dolly but better than Whitney. Just my 2 cents...

Whitney might have had a lot of success with this song, but if not for Dolly no one would have come to know and love this beautiful song. And I am sorry but Dolly has inspired a lot more people than Whitney. Dolly has been in the music industry for decades, and still releases music.... when is the last time Whitney came out with something new?? Enough said. Dolly has inspired tons of country music performers who are big today. Dolly writes her own music which makes her ORIGINAL!!
OMG! LeAnn has a set of lungs that is totally a God given gift!!!!!!! She is my ALL time favorite singer out there, from singing country to pop to something totally new. She can sing ANYTHING!!!!!!! Luv ya Leann. I can't wait for the new record to come out!!! : )))
what a voice. ITS A Gift. We haven't seen a lot of singers with a voice like that. Great to hear her talk like a baby but when she starts to sing, her voice soars. Amazing.
