i love the blend tec. it pulls things down so is especially good for smoothies, sauces and more liquidy things. for the money it is a more powerful blender. ie. 3 hp to 2 hp vitamix. blendtec does not have a plunger, but is designed to pull things down into the base. if you make a larger batch of cashew cream it will pull it down into the base. she mentioned she probably should have added more water. i make soups in the blend tec and all sorts of sauces and dessert things pulverizes seeds well.
Is There a Reason you were talking about the Blendtech that way ? Im trying decide whether to buy a blendtech or vitamix.... anything wrong with the Blendtech ?
Actually, the Blendtec now has a BPA free container. I was in the same dilemma, when trying to decided between the Blendtec and Vitamix about six months ago... I called the Blendtec company, and they informed me about the recent changes :)
@raysofgreys Whuts a BPA container ? Im trying to decide whether to buy a Blendtech or Vitamix and now im confused as to why he wus making fun of the blendtech... he did mention its more sophisticated than the vitamix with the functions... so any reason why he wud kinda be saying not to buy the blendtech?
@WhiteGlitterTV BPA (bisphenol-a) is widely used in the making of the hard, clear and nearly unbreakable plastic, called polycarbonate. Studies and tests show that trace amounts of BPA are leaching from polycarbonate containers into foods and liquids. These chemicals are highly toxic, and should be avoided. Personally, I prefer the Blendtec blender because of it's size (will fit under your kitchen cupboards). Also, the pitcher is much larger, and WAY easier to clean. Not to mention, more power!
The other problem with Blendtech is that the containers are MADE OUT OF BPA!!! It was the deciding factor in me choosing a Vitamix even though the Blendtech has higher horse power.
On the Blendtech website they even talk about how BPA is FDA approved and no one should worry about it!
Bisphenol A, a type of plastic proven to leech into the contents it holds and it has a negative influence on the endocrine system.
Those Nalgene bottles that where really hard and "unbreakable" were made of BPA. Here in Canada they were pulled off the shelves because our health association isn't as corupt as it is in the U.S. and probably didn't get bribed to declare it as "safe".
I just Googled Statue of David apron . . . hee hee . . . makes me think about a video that you guys did when everyone chuckled when AnnMarie said 'make sure to rinse your nuts.'
i've just eaten about 1300 calories in one sitting. this isn't normally me, but if think i should start paying attention to how to make these and the fitness fridays. gonna stop eating sweets.

Eating fruit has completely gotten me off processed sugars. Smoothies for breakfast are a good start.
