@normandabald Centres of galaxies look like this because you cannot resolve stars, since they are so many, so close together and at such a distance. You would need a very large telescope to see the single ones. The same happens with globular clusters, for example
@Skaarjguy Again, it's not a problem of luminosity. It's just a problem of resolution. Even with a huge telescope mirror you won't be able to distinguish the inner structures emitting the light (basically, the accretion disk)
@Skaarjguy Well, it's the resolving power, which tells you how small are the details that you can observe, and it's directly related to (more or less) the size of the mirror and the wavelength of the light (wikipedia should explain it, if I remember correctly)

lol..u will be split out in the white hole since u get in the black hole.. our sun take hundreds of years before it'll suck up the milky way's black hole..
a black hole is a supersized non-gass planet, wich reached an enormous amount of mass, that it has such a great gravity zone, it sucks in light into the surface, you see light because it bounces off something and it comes into your eye, if light doesnt bounce off the object but gets absorbed, you see a black spot, that is what a black hole is, no funny cartoon stuff or anything else, if your shuttle would get sucked towards it, you would dissapear in the surface, never to bee seen again
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ok, seriously dude? its gravity sucks LIGHT into it? You need to study science dude, cause there are no facts at all in there, other then the fact that if you got sucked into one you would be killed. A black hole is the result of a star collapsing in on itself, because its gravity is so great. its own gravity pulls a massive amount of mass into a tiny little ity bitty point and focuses all of its gravitational pull on that one point, sucking other stars and planets that get close into it.
the chances of a supermassive black hole in the center of our galaxy is slim, maybe some little ones but not a big one since there aint much interstellar dust left to feed the black hole
"feed" the black hole? black holes, once formed, are self sustaining by stopping all mass inside from escaping. Infinite mass means nothing gets out ever, regardless of the black hole's environs (the only exception is the teleporting of particles according to quantum theory) . Also, there is one at the center of the milky way, it is what gives the milky way its rotation
so the rotation is just not possible to be caused by other galaxies or energies around the milky way? moving like the flow of water around or galaxy? no, its just not possible.
exactly, black holes are the only solution that fits. the rotation of an object increases with its mass, and therefore black holes have a near infinite rotational velocity, coupled with their extreme mass, allowing the milky way to rotate as it does. outside influence isn't possible on a galactic scale.
actually theres super massive black holes in the center of every galaxy they found out even our galaxy but ours is inactive because like you said there isnt enough interstellar dust to feed on but if something like a sun got to close it would suck it up and become active again
btw we will be able to see mars with the naked eye this year! it only happens every 60,000 yrs! will b a true once in a life time sight plase spread the word!
Are you an idiot? You can see Mars most of the year with the naked eye anyway. It's not a "special cosmic alignment". Seriously who invented this bullshit?
Oops, i gave you a thumb down. I wanted to hit reply but ok. A black hole is a super dense chunck that got so much gravity, it can suck up big items and things (sorry for my bad English)
the radiation released is probably the electrons equally released from the process, packing only the pure protons and neutrons that have actual mass relative to the almost non existent matter of electrons,
why black, well imagine what would a ball of nothing but atom cores would look like, without electrons and there shells they dont produce a physical light but only the matter spewed out. BLACK HOLE=clump of atoms, no electrons, high gravity due to high density, LOL
here's my theory on black holes, they fascinate me so much, that i believe that they are so small yet so dense is because they're systematically crushing atoms to such a degree that they shatter the electron shells that surround the center of each, the space between an electron and its proton/neutron core is relative to our sun(core) and the last planet Pluto(electron), atoms are small enough but, remove all that empty space and you can pack large amounts into small areas.
as for the "dimension theory," too many of you have seen an awful lot of movies, stop thinking about those imaginative stories and myths that came from pure speculation and created for pure amusement AND think about our sciences, out of all we've gathered from everything is that not once have we come across anything to prove or even hint of some alternative reality...also, we can see black holes only because the high transfer of matter to such a small state uses energy RADIATION
due to its sudden high density, its gravity is so attractive that light matter cant escape, but it can be a slow process for those dumbshits who think that we should be dead by now, i agree that due to our galaxies spinning motion, there is a black hole, or a cluster of them, its hard to imagine only one but a cluster of them is more prudent to belief, i only say that because there are so god damn many of them and at such large scales, all eligible sizes for supernovas
lol some of you need brush up on your astrology before using your own self-absorbed opinions of what you think things are, first off, so far what scientists conclude is that a black hole is a star that has lost its outer core wether shedding it off, using it up, or expanding it outwards aka supernova. kind of like when you spin on a playground ride with all limbs extended then all at once pull them in and you spin many times faster with more force and sudden burst of heightened momentum.
ummmmm..... if there was a black hole in the milkyway we would be sucked in it already, scientists saw gallaxies with black holes next day they were gone soooooo yah
You also obviously do not know anything you are talking about and have false information look at a map of our galaxy and how small we are on one of the rings, and also what do you think causes the spiral motion in our galaxy..
Basically most of our universe is dark matter, it would have to compromise of dark matter and something else not just regular dark matter but it probably / most likely mainly dark matter.
simple...if you see something(stars..obviously..planets cannot be seen..so easily indeed..) rotating around a patch of the universe wich seems to be "empty"..you probably found a black hole..
another technique is by taking photos with infrared telescopes..black holes usually "spreads" massive rays of electrons throughout the space..those can be catched with some advanced infrared telescopes...
now..instead of wondering, SSJNiK ,buy a good book..and start reading...
Matter that is rotating around black holes emittes X-ray radiation (it is super hot). What you see are computer simulations and pictures of radion waves brought down to visible spectrum. Get it now?
These are not actual pictures. They were created based on the information they got from theories and findings.. LOLZ, no one has actually seen a black hole like it is in the images. They all are what scientists think they look like based on their information gathered.
I don't understand your sentence the fact that light can't escape them is what causes it to be seen, we have pictures of them like next to a Star you see part of the star being sucked up next to it into a swirl the light that is being sucked is how we see it.
No, first of all its not a true law but a theory, second of all the theory only matters in spiral galaxy, the black hole would be what causes the spiral motion in our galaxy and other galaxies, the massive black hole theory does not apply to other galaxies such as cloud galaxies.
...And they EMIT baby stars, they Do Not suck stars in. They suck(Radiation) in at the poles and make stars. Our Universe is a, 'SUPER ULTRA GIGAN BH' @3K(-260C).
A wormhole (theory) just bends light and kind of funnels it, it doesn't change the sizes of anything, it just apears to. Blacko holes just continually crush you more and more and more.
This language should be outlawed.

2:12 While the explosion the nearest points of the hole where 100 millions time more shiny than now.
2:23 If that explosion have happened not so far ago it will have been detected .
2:35 According to the relativity the BH have such a huge gravitation that even the light can't escape from his attraction.

0:56 The technology institute of California said that this happened before there where satellites to detect it.
1:07 Previously Xandra have detected some minor explosions from this B.H.
1:19 The last one was 10 times more shiny and was 1000 times longer.
1:35 We know Sgr A far ago with a mass equivalent to 3 millions of suns.
1:43 However this B.H. Its incredibly diffused on all the wave lengths.
1:54 That makes it hard to approach so the stars never gets into a dangerous distance from the B.H.

Thumbs up so everyone will be able to read.
0:08 NASA astronomers discovered with a X-ray Xandra telescope evidences of a powerful explosion from the black hole of the Milky Way centre.
0:19 An echo of light was produced when the X-ray light generated by the gas absorbed by Sgr A was reflected on gas clouds near the hole.
0:37 The first rays of the explosion arrived to the earth 50 years ago the echo ones have taken a longer way so they where registered by Xandra.

here's my theory on black holes, they fascinate me so much, that i believe that they are so small yet so dense is because they're systematically crushing atoms to such a degree that they shatter the electron shells that surround the center of each, the space between an electron and its proton/neutron core is relative to our sun(core) and the last planet Pluto(electron), atoms are small enough but, remove all that empty space and you can pack large amounts into small areas.

Your knowledge intrigues me, and would also intrigue others. My sugjestion. You should make a video on your opinions of black holes.

as for the "dimension theory," too many of you have seen an awful lot of movies, stop thinking about those imaginative stories and myths that came from pure speculation and created for pure amusement AND think about our sciences, out of all we've gathered from everything is that not once have we come across anything to prove or even hint of some alternative reality...also, we can see black holes only because the high transfer of matter to such a small state uses energy RADIATION

due to its sudden high density, its gravity is so attractive that light matter cant escape, but it can be a slow process for those dumbshits who think that we should be dead by now, i agree that due to our galaxies spinning motion, there is a black hole, or a cluster of them, its hard to imagine only one but a cluster of them is more prudent to belief, i only say that because there are so god damn many of them and at such large scales, all eligible sizes for supernovas
sliferstorment 2 years ago 4
lol some of you need brush up on your astrology before using your own self-absorbed opinions of what you think things are, first off, so far what scientists conclude is that a black hole is a star that has lost its outer core wether shedding it off, using it up, or expanding it outwards aka supernova. kind of like when you spin on a playground ride with all limbs extended then all at once pull them in and you spin many times faster with more force and sudden burst of heightened momentum.

ummmmm..... if there was a black hole in the milkyway we would be sucked in it already, scientists saw gallaxies with black holes next day they were gone soooooo yah

Uh yea, you don't know what your talking about much less how to spell.
WaffleandBanana 2 years ago
You also obviously do not know anything you are talking about and have false information look at a map of our galaxy and how small we are on one of the rings, and also what do you think causes the spiral motion in our galaxy..

a black hole is a dark matter
rezs91 2 years ago
Basically most of our universe is dark matter, it would have to compromise of dark matter and something else not just regular dark matter but it probably / most likely mainly dark matter.

how do u take pics of blackholes if light cant escape them?

thats what i ask myself every time my friend.Thats what i ask myself every time
SSJNiK 2 years ago
simple...if you see something(stars..obviously..planets cannot be seen..so easily indeed..) rotating around a patch of the universe wich seems to be "empty"..you probably found a black hole..
another technique is by taking photos with infrared telescopes..black holes usually "spreads" massive rays of electrons throughout the space..those can be catched with some advanced infrared telescopes...
now..instead of wondering, SSJNiK ,buy a good book..and start reading...
liadon666 2 years ago
Also the thing that supports the theory of massive black holes being in the center of the galaxy is the swirling motion of our galaxy.
WaffleandBanana 2 years ago
Matter that is rotating around black holes emittes X-ray radiation (it is super hot). What you see are computer simulations and pictures of radion waves brought down to visible spectrum. Get it now?
Xanzzu 2 years ago
These are not actual pictures. They were created based on the information they got from theories and findings.. LOLZ, no one has actually seen a black hole like it is in the images. They all are what scientists think they look like based on their information gathered.
nahumthebest 2 years ago 3
I don't understand your sentence the fact that light can't escape them is what causes it to be seen, we have pictures of them like next to a Star you see part of the star being sucked up next to it into a swirl the light that is being sucked is how we see it.

theres a black hole in every galaxy some have two that spin around each other like they were dancing till they merge that is
thebig419 3 years ago
No, first of all its not a true law but a theory, second of all the theory only matters in spiral galaxy, the black hole would be what causes the spiral motion in our galaxy and other galaxies, the massive black hole theory does not apply to other galaxies such as cloud galaxies.

Black Holes = Dense Electromagnet Field
...And they EMIT baby stars, they Do Not suck stars in. They suck(Radiation) in at the poles and make stars. Our Universe is a, 'SUPER ULTRA GIGAN BH' @3K(-260C).
9unner22 3 years ago
A wormhole (theory) just bends light and kind of funnels it, it doesn't change the sizes of anything, it just apears to. Blacko holes just continually crush you more and more and more.
