  • error here, comes around randomly:

    my brush would start behaving strangely,and whenever I pass over my paint, it would get erased.

    any ideas? couldn't find anything on google.

  • guys i have a problem :( i can't import any avi file to my 3ds max. it give me an error "no driver can handle the file" guyss plss how to fix this problem T_T

  • @markjason2 you are probably on a 64 bit version of windows and 3ds max which means you need a 64 bit version of the codec for that video or switch to using the 32 bit version of 3ds max in this instance.

  • @Tlatotoctli you'v still got to uv mate at least in professional design. This is more to fix seams in the texture

  • @lazerusreborn If your going to paint in 3D, then why do you need organized 2D maps? All thats needed is the polygons to be scaled correctly in the UV space.

    Since you need to produce several other maps, while different artists need to be able to use the UV you'v provided. Uv coordinates are loaded into engines for smoothing and other fancy shader setups. So its always better to have a proper UV than a 'Gif' stored Equvilent UV'

  • @MegaBrosy you can download this trial ht tp: // usa.autodesk.com /3ds-max /trial/ and try it out and if you like it you might buy it on some website for a cheaper price

  • EVERY time I try to render an occlusion map my 3ds max stops responding. I have a new computer with great performance so Its not that my computer cannot handle it. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

  • @danielofthekings Yes, it was a matter of time. Usually, when a company is at the top of the food change they're always looking at what others are doing and copy any cool technique or technology their competitors have and, beat them, if possible, at their own game. That's the beauty of competition. One wants to out do the other. I believe 3ds Max also copy Maya material node style. Not surprised there. They bought Maya. I like Max but I hope they don't buy Zbrush. Let there be COMPETITION.

    It's better way than jump like monkey from one program to another. Photoshop Extend can paint on 3D models so, for you opinion, Adobe whan't to remove bodypaint 3D? The program's today needs to move in other ways and been more complicated for whole process of doing CG.

    Much better package in general, at least for visualization

    (I use MAX, Maya and XSI, by the way... I'm not a fanboy of MAX)

  • Wow, It's like a 3D phoyoshop, Autodesk, is one of the biggest companysI ever seen before, "Avatar" was made with Autodesk Programs, powerfull, POWERFULLl!!, With it there is no limits.

    Merging basic psd interface to the VPT is insane! Seems autodesk just read my mind.

  • Viewport Canvas looks great, I'll have to see how it really preforms. Container upgrades, new node based material editor, some improvments to Graphite modeling tools, and the addition of Toxik are all welcome by me.

  • That's brilliant! It looks like bodypaint 3d or even photoshop in 3D! Perhaps in the future people will not need UVW maps any more. Great job :-)
