  • Uf,skilled guy!

  • Caruso?

  • dead string haha, it sounds exactly like mine, change the string and the sound will be better, but i cant really afford to change string .. cost like 40+ bucks per string , fuck guitar players whose string cost at most 6 bucks

  • @Averilsings Yeah, also they were flatwounds which already give a pretty dead sound to begin with :)

  • you are an awesome player! what model is this? standard mim?

  • nice video, realy helpfull

  • Just need your opinion. I play more classic rock. A little blues and some country. What would be the best bass for me. The p bass or the j bass.

  • @bordinco90 Well, seeing as how the jazz bass can pretty closely emulate the tone of the p-bass and much more i would personally choose the jazz bass, especially because the jazz bass can give you an awesome thumpy deep tone for blues and a growly harsh sound for rock, also this video doesnt really do it any justice as i was using flatwounds and a rather bad interface, i'm going to fit my jazz bass with a new bridge and pickups and will do another tone demo soon, so look out for that :D

  • you need roundwounds

  • @Slipyasha Yeah i have since gone back to roundwounds and i'm going to do another sound test, more of a sound comparison because im getting some new pickups so i'm gonna do a before/after video.

  • @BassistNumber2587 what pickups?

  • @Slipyasha I'm getting the Fender Custom Shop 60s jazz bass pickups.

  • @BassistNumber2587 Excelent choice

  • @Slipyasha I cant wait until they get here :D

  • Is this recorded directly into soundcard or throught amp/speaker/mic? Any after processing? Sounds great and good playing!

  • @OssianOtt Hey, its the bass straight into the sound card with no effects or amp simulation or anything :)

  • You look exactly like Flea, except your wearing a shirt.

  • I can hear a bit of warble... is that from Youtube compression or the tone of the bass? Which strings are on it? They sound a bit dull.

It doesn't look like it but is it Squier series?

  • @ScalerWave Yeah that warble is from youtube, the sound quality gets dumbed down so much its painful to me because ive heard how it sounded originally, also those are infact old as f**k flatwounds so they are pretty dull, also this is a Fender, i just changed the original white pickguard to a tortoiseshell one.

  • @BassistNumber2587 Ahh flat wounds, gotcha... nice playing man !

  • @ScalerWave Ty :)

  • So are these MIM basses everyone is talking about the same as the Standard ones?

  • @cursedswordsman I'm new to it aswell. But I'm pretty sure it stands for "mimic"

  • @cursedswordsman WAIT! IT MEANS MADE IN MEXICO! I FEEL SO STUPID! AHH!!!!

    Sorry

  • @cursedswordsman yes. fender standard means made in mexico.

  • how does this compare to a usa fender? anything major? im looking into a mim one for 350 but i dont know if i should save for a usa or get the mim. love the white finish btw absolutely sexy

  • @brownbassplayer Well i'll tell you what they told me at the store, the difference between this one and the mim is like the base model of a car compared to the same car but with leather seats and a better stereo and masage seats. So basically the mim is good, but the usa is more based on detail: slightly thicker finish on the neck, better workmanship etc.

  • @BassistNumber2587 thanks man i appreciate it. looks like ill be getting my lefty candy red mim jazz next week :)

  • @brownbassplayer Awesome! :D

  • any problems with the frets? the action can be absolutely low?

  • @hbalazs09 the action can be pretty low, however i have had a couple off issues with the last 3/4 frets on the G string, where they are almost unplayable, when you try and play those notes it just buzzes and theres no note, however this wasnt the case before so maybe i need to readjust the strings a bit.

  • @BassistNumber2587

Thank you for your answers :)

    I decided to buy a cort artisan B5 :D

  • which bass you like more (or which is better quality), your Fender MIM or the Peavey palaedium?

  • @elpactodejohnson1 I use my fender a lot more but i would say that the peavey having been a $900 bass back in '91 is a much better quality instrument.

  • Hi. Awesomeness.

Do you prefer that bass? This is the standart model with the passive pickups, right?

(I like the rhcp bass lines :D)

  • @hbalazs09 yeah, i definately love this bass, and it is the simple model :)

  • where do you buy these things?!?! i cant find em new anywhere and id prefer one like yours

  • @yomammaonastick keep in mind that this was a white bass with a white pickguard, so it was a standard one, i put the tortoiseshell pickguard on it after. But i found mine at dolphin music, in 2008 for £350

  • @BassistNumber2587 was it used? when i type in fender made in mexico bass it dosnt give me any it only shows expensive american ones

  • @yomammaonastick no it wasnt used, but the price of the mexican ones is now £549 :/ they increased the price, and the VAT in the UK is insanely high compared to everywhere else so the price is now insane...

  • @BassistNumber2587 thanks for gettin back to me pal , iv found out its were my bridge pick up aint working proparly so sending it back to were i got and there sorting it for me ....hopefully lol

  • @essexbassplaya well, its good to hear that at least you managed to figure out what was wrong, let me know wether the tone improves with both pickups!

  • hi iv got a fender classic series 60s jazz bass MIM and it sounds rich and woody like a p bass , dont sound like a jazz bass so i was wundering how i get it to sound like that ??? my amps a marshall mb bass amp

  • @essexbassplaya Im not sure to be honest, this is just the raw jazz bass sound, no amp no effects, nothing. I think it might be the the pickups as this is probably one of the main difference between both our basses.

  • great sound

  • do the fender standard FSR j basses sound the same as these??? cuz i love the FSR look...

  • @foofightersfan14 i have no idea what bass you are talking about xD

  • @BassistNumber2587 lol sall good, i love the sound of your bass and there is a different MIM model called the FSR jazz bass, its got a more natural look to it. but i dont know if it sounds the same :( im pretty sure it does though look it up and guitar centers website they have it

  • @foofightersfan14 ohhh right, the one with the ash body, i thought it was limited edition. might not be though!

  • @BassistNumber2587 lol this has been bugging me!! finally found out though about both of them, the other version is just a different finish and head style on it, no different sound, and its limited edition in a way that guitar center only sells them, and even they have a limited supply at one time for them, right now they dont have them :/

  • @foofightersfan14 aww well, if the sound isnt that different then might as well just get a normal one :P

  • @BassistNumber2587

Fender FSR Jazz Basses are the Ash body ones with the natural finish on them.

  • haha i'm working on buying a bass exactly like this on craigslist right now...

  • @bassmangarrett151 its great bass, if it really is like my own you wont regret it.

  • What year is the bass?

  • @billiam5billion i bought it in 2008 brand new :)

  • Great man! i have a couple of questios for you,, hope you dont mind =) .. what amp are you using? and . Exactly. what color is that fender j bass? 'cause i cant find the MIM bass with that color, maybe im searching in the wrong way... By the way, dont laugh, but the first time i looked this video i thought, :0 a fender j bass witha whammy bar LOL, the cable looks like one xD ok thanks for the video man , iim plannig to get a j bass, but i really want it in that color :(

  • @cyvernet140 hey, im not using an amp for these cover, im recording into my PC, through a Guitar Link USB, they are like £20 off ebay. The bass is in Arctic white, the pickguard i bought after buying the bass, it usually comes with a white pick guard, so i had to find a tortoise shell one :)

  • You have the same coloured basses as I!

  • @MrMusicfan007 awesome, this is my favourite colour combo for fender basses :D

  • @BassistNumber2587 Mine too

  • what is the model of this bass?? is it the Fender classic 60's Jazz Bass MIM?

  • @hothengchun nope, its just the standard MIM jazz bass. :)

  • Fail attempt at Stone Cold Bush UHASASUHASUHUHAS

  • @LordofLegend lol, you should really learn to think before you type, i can play the stone cold bush solo, i was showing slapping sounds, i didnt want to play the whole solo. just works as a good slap riff... -.-

  • how much is it?

  • @NotGoodEnough09

The bass cost me £349 (new) in 2008.

However now the price at the same store (dolphin music) is £449.

  • Sounds really clean and punchy! Great video!

  • @SlapDaBass1 Thanks :D this is one bass i will never regret getting :)

  • Nice :3

  • @Terrorifiction Thanks :D
