Yeah that was a crappy honk man. i think he would have kept up with ya. I built a Daytona Turbo-Z once for a friend and it would have blown past both of you with ease! And im a pontiac guy! Itwas running 14 PSI only with stock intercooler, Shelby head, 3" exhaust all the way to the rear and a external 35mm Wastegate. Try racing one of those next time. 11 sec. Daytonas are all over the street and that was done with a stock T3 Garrett.
Look at his other vid's guys... the 97 "GT" here has a freaking four valve swap out of a N/A cobra, along with (I assume) a bunch of boltons for said four valve. Poor primered out and basically stock 2.3L T didn't stand a chance.
@SteedaGT97 I stand corrected... and I guess I have to agree with these guys that something was up with the SVO or driver. NPI GT cars are dogs from the factory, and respond worse to boltons than almost any other mustang. A full bolton NPI car would be lucky to see 230~ WHP to the tire.
@testy462 216 actually lol, at that time. I actually had no intention of ever posting this until about a month later the SVO driver accidentally butt dialed my work phone while talking to a coworker about how he was right on my back bumper (hence Firebirdv8350ci's 70ft back bumper comment) and with a better launch woulda had me. Yeah it was a crappy honk on my part, adrenaline was pumping and I honked too quick, wasn't intentional. Not like it really made a difference ppl
@testy462 I know it was cammed and had a front mount and was pushin 18psi. Which I can attest to, like I said he's a buddy of mine and I drove the car a couple times. Car also had 75 shot dry kit on it which obviously wasn't used in this run. Alot of it was driver on both parts. At this time he had only had the car I think a month at the most and I had mine dialed in off the line. Even with it bein a bolt-on NPI 2V I was consistantly pullin 1.6 60ft times on drag radials
I'm pretty sure a stock svo could take a stock 5.0 back in the day and 96-98's suck. This 97 must have some mods and proably gears I would say. A svo vs a stock 96-98 gt..the svo wins everytime guaranteddddddddd
guy in the SVO couldnt drive, sorry Mr V8 but you wouldnt have won, or at least not by that much, and that was the cheapest start ever. beep............ beep. beep! seriously you're that afraid of loosing?
that looked like around 6 -7 car lengths away.....This must be a guiness record for 97 Mustang Gt Largest rear bumper - somewhere around 70 feet.........wow
my nigga. when u race with a turbo charged car like the svo (i have one) u need to prime the engine to like 3000 rpm and dump the clutch.. not like a high torque v8 jus rev and punch it.

Actually this video was shot a couple months before the 4V swap. All the car had was a 2V with bolt-ons and exhaust at that time

@Firebirdv8350ci the guy in the svo don't know how to drive it. That car got 200 rwhp and 250 tq. it would have been right beside of the GT.
