Hey, thanks. A lot of it comes from lots of practice with clever effects processing and chaining. You can get a pretty basic unfiltered synth sound to tear it up with some good effects processing. Even the 3xOsc in FL can sound like a total beast with the right EQing, distortion, and compression. I'm actually not a terribly big fan of Sytrus and haven't yet felt the urge to buy it, so I don't use it. A lot of my favorite VST plugins are freebies you can find all over the net. Dig a bit!
