With ALL due respect to the greatest southern rock band ever. From their fist fights in the Sweat Shack where they started to the Battle of the Bands in Atlanta where they got their first break. They were impressive then and still are. However, this "tribute" stunk! If you want to run credits, do it before or after, not after every damn photo. That editing broke the mood of the view.
when my uncle passed away they played this at his funeral...im gonna kill the next person to hit the dislike button, and i know about 50 other youtubers who will help me do it.
my brother passed away just a month ago, and this was one of his favorite songs. I can't listen to this song with out having tears in my eyes. Rest in peace brother. 1990-2010.
This is a truly a powerful ballad and stylistically, 10 years ahead of it's time. All the metal bands of the 80's had Lynyrd Skynyrd to thank for creating the prototype for all metal ballads to come. May you forever rock in heaven, boys!
This song changed my life. My father was going into surgery and died, this song was in his tape player. It is better to be loved than feared but the world is full of men who want to use you and will tell you its better to be feared than loved, they just want you to fear them, don't fall for it.
@XXXREDROOMXXX I don't understand the connection between your father dying and the being loved or feared. Perhaps explain? Or maybe its something personal.
i own an orginal record of the album "street survivors" the last album they did before the tragic accident on the plane. on the album cover it shows the band in a fire filled street, with Ronnie Van Zant face completely engulfed in fire, strangely this album was first released a few days before the accident. It was pulled off the shelf because the album cover was so inappropriate with Van Zant's face covered in fire like he just got off the burning wreckage. Its kinda spooky RIP van zant

i only knew this music recently (don't ask me why!!!) - well, i am not American and maybe they're not as know in here. i was watching a "Cold Case" episode and this song started playing along with the usual last scenes played in slow motion. whoa... loved it. it IS a GREAT song!! GREAT!!
32 years from today they wrecked. R.I.P Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, Dean Kilpatrick, Allen Collins, Leon Wilkison, Billy Powell, and Lacy Van Zant (the father of southern rock)
I love hip hop but have never been a fan of Jay-z and he was better int the 90's than the crap he puts out now but what ever like I said I've never been a fan even before I got older and learned about his occult ties.
An old flying buddy of mine was a young crop duster in Amite County, Mississippi in 1977. He had just landed his Ag-Cat and was in the proccess of refueling and reloading when he noticed a Convair 240 apparently trying to land on the short dirt strip J.D. flew out of. The 240 went down in a swamp short of the field. He and his ground help jumped into a truck and drove as close as was possible to the crash site. J. D. has described the carnage of that event to me many times.
