  • Im sorry but did you say 78 MILES AN HOUSR WND?????

  • i like the mini pilot inside

  • STOP at 2:11 :D

  • Hi,

This is one of my favorites video. Thank you for your sharing!

  • why the rear landing gear retract is not functioning?

  • @jojel333 Tail wheel doesnt retract. You can make your own though with a servo and a free channel on your radio

  • Just left Banannaaa Hobbbby site,,got some bad reviews on customer service,,wonder how this Nitro site is if you have a problem with their stuff?

  • @jimbo4261 there good just busy sometimes

  • No flaps????? Who's idea was that?

  • @Nitroplanes Does FMS have the same products as Airfield? Is it the same brand with another name?

  • im gonna be getting this thing in a few weeks is there any thin else i need 4 it

  • ATTENTION....To everyone that sees the DO NOT FLY sign, I've seen this field in other flying videos and the it reads; "DO NOT FLY AIRCRAFT OVER RIFLE RANGE". If you don't believe me look in some of Banana Hobby videos.

  • It's funny cause at 2:11 it says do not fly :P

  • what other motors will fit in this? and what are the motor dimensions stock?

  • what other motors will fit in this?

  • Hi Tony, Love your vids. How would you rate this P-51 against the Airfield F4U Corsair 1430, in terms of performance and ease of flying. I'm going to get one or the other very soon. Would appreciate any help in making my decision. Thanks! Mike Case.

  • Hi Tony, I really enjoy all your vids. You do a great job. Just curious how this P-51 compares with the Airfield F4U Corsair 1430 in terms of easy-to-fly and performance. I am an old-school RC flier with about a 35 year hiatus. I've been working on a sim, but I was wondering which of these two birds (P-51 and F4U) would be more forgiving and an easier fly for me. Thanks!

  • you like saying nice alot, i want one of those RCs how much is it?

  • hey Tony... is there a sim you would reccomend for this plane?

  • great fly by!! i like this and i love the moving landing gear

  • I love this plane, it just seemed a little slow at 1:35 you can see that se is basically full throttle and the plane seems to be almost creeping along....

  • Sharp!!

  • the real plane is much more cool...

    but i liked this....

  • Great video and a great looking plane!

  • Nice, BUT I would be nervous when I started to hear shotgun blasts.!!!

  • There is a Depron or EPP version? I hate polystyrene.

  • My guess is that, just like in learning to fly real airplanes, one is advised to begin with the slower more forgiving airplanes like the single engine. Maybe even a biplane to begin with. Respectfully, RN

  • hey tony im wondering if u can give me tips because im getting my fiirstairplane

  • Hey Tony witch plane is better P51 or the p47?

  • Hey im new to this whole thing and i think its awesome. Just one question, are you able to recharge the batteries for more flights?

  • @ShakoSaber18 Yes, you can rechare li-po batteries. BUT DO NOT GET THIS PLANE!!!! you will crash it. Some one who has never flown before should get a Super Cub LP RTF from Hobbyzone. hope I could help.

  • Looks very under powered as it dopped in most of its turns!

  • how much did that set u back?

  • @shiyboy4 About 250

  • @HaloZeroFreakBeanboy oh thts not 2 bad

  • what is a good plane for some one who know nothing about rc plane

  • @famousstunners HobbyZone Super Cub LP RTF

  • wats the actually model or like link to this specific plane i want to go buy it

  • @buffalowarrior I just got into planes last summer so I'm not exactly a pro but from my experience bigger flys better, I webt from small electric planes like the mini super cub and the bigger one and had felt i had mastered those then I switched to large nitro and electric planes and the difference was amazing, they have better control and glide easier and best they don't get tossed by the wind as easy. It also depends on flying space

  • Think I should pick up the smaller sized ARF 4-Ch P40 800mm 31.5" first? I have plenty of experience with helis, park fliers, and gliders but not much with faster larger planes...

  • @BuffaloWarrior7 After learning ailerons on a high wing, a newer pilots first low wing should be about 30" or so and parts should be readily available, when they have mastered that and have a few years experience then they can move to +45". Better planes do fly better in gusty areas but they also hit the ground harder, mistakes happen to all pilots.

  • Hey Tony I was wondering how much flight time you get from this plane, because I am going to buy one very soon. Thank You

    -52kyt

  • @52kyt we got easily 5+ minutes on a single flight

    -Nitroplanes

  • @52kyt we got easily 5+ minutes on a single flight

    -Nitroplanes

  • @52kyt we got easily 5+ minutes on a single flight

    -Nitroplanes

  • @52kyt if the plane is electric it sholud be doing 5-8 minutes from what ive heard. but my uncle has a nitro P-51 and it flies for about 10 minutes. supposedly if you change the propellor it should get more flight time due to less wind resistance

  • I couldn't tell, does this have steerable tail wheel?

  • @jonathanjhl yes it does

  • how does this plane fair to the hobby zone t28?

  • Are you guys near a gun club? I hear shotguns :)

  • @banditb17 Yup, we got two of them. We are right in the middle so its pretty much stereo gun shots the whole day

  • @nitroplanes I'm jealous :P

I think I am going to buy this P51 based on your build videos. Is the one pictured the 1450mm?

  • @banditb17 no there in your mom XD jk

  • I want one.

    :|

  • B NICE TO HAVE THE BUY ONE ,GET ONE FREE !!! then i would put 2 together, and have a dual-power,,P-102 !!!!!!

  • hey ,,the dy1ful, was right,,,,this plane is underpower"ed . put some kv & amps to it nitro!!!!

  • @jaywalker760 I WANT THE ,,BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE!!!!

  • When comes it in? And are you send to europe(germany) ,too?

    Sorry for bad english :(

  • @acrofigter It will be coming in this month, check out our international shipping

  • When comes it in? Send you to europe, too? sorry for bed english :(

  • at 2:12 it says DO NOT FLY...haha!!

  • hahaha

  • Great video, the plane looks nice. I like the fact that you were honest about the retract servos. Keep up the good work.

  • Banana Pete

    Great flying field!

  • I just bought mine today at ChargedRc here in Brisbane. Wow. Sunday it not going to get here quick enough.

  • do you guys know where i can get a 4 bladed prop for a hangar 9 p-51 pts with a saito fa-65 in it

  • wow nice video. i'm not a huge fan of electrics but the beging camera angles are way cool and it's a p-51

  • Tony

When the 50mm arriving, any Idea?

  • Originally the date for release was end of Jan, but the 50mm still needed a few more revisions done to it so the date got pushed back. Hopefully they will be release around April.

  • One more thing Tony, Does your LED lighting system support the length for this plane?

  • CrazyEnergy2

The lighting system was design for the EDF jets which has a shorter wingspan. Yoy may have to lenghten the wires if you want to use them on the P51

I would say the planes flies about 40-50mph with the 4 blade prop. Yup the P-51 is a very popular model not to mention how cheap it is :D

    -Tony

  • Hey Tony,

Can we get your estimate on fight speed on this Plane. lol lol This plane and most other planes are selling out faster then you can post the video..

  • stuped that the back wheel doesn't retract

  • Yes I agree but the making the rear wheel retract able is not hard to do. Very simple mod if you search over on RcGroups.

    -Tony

  • oh very nice!

non-retracting tail wheel looks a little daft

  • Very nice flying plane, dont know what these people are complaining about, but it looks and flies very realistically. Come on people, $229 bucks for a complete plane, what more do you want! That wouldnt buy you a crappy radio when I started flying RC.

  • can this be a gasser plane?

  • I don't think so since the plane is made out of foam. Foam and gas do not mix well, but with a little mods anything is possible.

    -Tony

  • It looks like it's struggling to fly, you where at full throttle when they showed the radio?

  • just get a higher C-rated battery...itll make it go faster. lol

  • Dy1ful

When the vid showed the TX Tony was flying at full throttle, but for most of the flight he was only flying at 50% to 75% throttle. He only went full throttle for the low passes

  • great looking plane!

  • In Summary, the video does provide a very good representation of how this model does fly. However, my model came with pre-cut flaps "and" with flap servos pre-installed (Of course my model did not come from Nitro) and there is different versions out there and mine is version #3 (Retracts, Flaps and re-enforced wing assembly).

Lessons Learned, and assuming your model came with the FMS Model ESC and Motor (600Kv motor and 40-AMP ESC), I would recommend to install an external BEC!

  • The retract servos are not weak, and you need to adjust the end point travel a little so they can go all the way in the wheel well. I personally had not needed to use Loc Tite on the grub screws for the retracts as this then does not allow easy adjustment. Those Grub screws hold very well without any Loc Tite.

  • guapoman2000

Thanks for the tip. I am so used to the RC cars and heli's about using loctite on all metal to metal contact. The TX does not have any end point adjustments so I could not adjust how much throw I wanted. Don't get me wrong the wheels do retract in all the way but when flying at full throttle the wheels seem to have a hard time retracting back in like it's not strong enough.

  • Your fighting 2 items RE the retracts.

There 100 degree or better. To get them to lock up your going to need to remove some foam from the wheel well.

As noted the retract servos are also marginal at best.

Kudos for the nice video and disclosure.

    Tommy D

  • When will this be available?

  • I can see why you got that cheesy grin on your face :0) That is a beauty! I want one too!!!!

  • Nice job Tony...you ever run into Pete?...

  • I went to buy this today at NP and it was sold out. You guys have a good website but it is frustrating to see "Item out of stock" on half the items per page. Sounds like business is good though.

  • Great aircraft sound!

  • how much throttle were you flying with most of the time? when do you expect to have these back in stock?

  • @ddrlankyj

Using the 2-blade that came iwith my model, I found my throttle setting at nothing above 1/2 throttle position using Spektrum DX7 and AR7000 RX. The 4-Blade propeller is about the same but, slower in airspeed.

  • how much of a speed increase did you see with the 2 blade prop?

  • @ddrlankyj

About another 10 MPH as the motor now can spin a little faster due to the lesser load on it comparing it to the 4-blade.

  • I really wanted this plane, but it needs more power looks underpowered.

I won't be buying until they upgrade the kv's

  • @bbjsw10

My model came with the G&C 3648-Kv600 (600Kv motor) and it provides lots of power with the Stock Battery pack. The 2-Blade that came with my model (13 X 9) looks identical to the "Sport" APC propeller provides lots of additional airspeed and the tail does not wallow like in Tony's Video. Using the 4-blade propeller my models does the same thing!

  • @guapoman2000 Thanks maybe I will get it and try it out then soon. I love the looks of a P-51 especially with retracts.

  • @bbjsw10

you can view my videos at vimeo and search for guapoman2000

  • @bbjsw10

once at vimeo dot cum, search for user 326975

  • i like this p51

  • you remind me of pete from banana hobby

  • all Asians look alike?

  • what size/type of servo is used for the flaps? I'm probably going to buy this sucker pretty soon, but I want flaps as well.

  • You did a very nice job of flying it in a scale like manner. Well done!

  • it looks like a flying tank. underpowered or too heavy?

  • I agree it looks pretty underpowered. Plus the only time they showed tony he was running full throttle.

  • @GrubFlyer Yeah at 1:39 you can see how slow it's going for full throttle. One would be much better off with a Parkzone warbird, but that's just my opinion since I own 3 of them!
