They used to be peaceful protesters in the past so what caused them to explode is unknown. You can't really say whose fault all these deaths are or what caused what. From as of right it looks like Taiwan is slowly going to peacefully unify with China and that is what the Pan Blue's Party goal is and with all the corruption from the (pro independence)Pan Green party right now such as Chen Shui Bian people's realizing they have been played and also robbed of their money, more people are supporting the Pan Blue.

plus racially, we're not even 'pure' chinese. my family also has dutch and taiwanese aboriginal blood and the chinese ancestors in our family came from china hundreds of years ago, unlike the WaiShengRen nowadays who go around proclaiming that Taiwan belongs to China

the original China map from Qing dynasty to Sun Yet Sen does NOT include korea or Mongolia. If Sun Yet Sen was alive today he'd wouldn't even hesitate on reunifying China. Did you know After the collapse of the Qing China was divided into many parts each declared itself as a country and some was very prosperous, but they Sun Yet Sen reunified China by force since they are all Chinese. Just look at Africa right now all all them independent but they are the most poorest and weakest nations.

You like the idea of being forced to unify? And check your facts. Sun Yat Sen's map did include Mongolia. They only became independent very recently. Korea was a bit further in history but it was a part of China no question. You can't even compare Africa to Asia. The reason Africa is in such chaos is because Europeans divided the continent into random countries when Britain, France, Spain, and Portugul colonized it without giving any consideration to different tribes.

As for Tibet when KMT was in control of China in the 1940s U.S. recognized Tibet as China but it changed when KMT was abdicated to Taiwan. If a country can't even keep its Sovereignty then it can't be called a country, would you have supported a Confederate States of America? And the only conflict in Tibet is with the exiled Tibetans in India, and Tibetans get much more special privileges than Chinese people and if you take travel there you will see. You are just feeding to the West Propaganda.

It isn't in the best interest for America to have Taiwan be completely taken by China and they wouldn't like complete independence either. They would rather we stay in this tension. I am also not talking about Tibet being recognized. I was talking about how they were massacred when those who were exhiled tried to come back, like the dalai lama, around the time of the olympics. That isn't feeding the west propaganda. That is fact. The point is that China poses a threat to Taiwan.

I like how almost every site that has this story is from China. While there was violence in Tibetan protests, the facts about the situation are unclear. They used to be peaceful protesters in the past so what caused them to explode is unknown. You can't really say whose fault all these deaths are or what caused what. China not letting western reporters into Tibet is suspicious though. Why don't you try diversifying where you get your information instead of relying only on Chinese news...

What makes you any different. There is no news no report that isn't biased towards one side or the other and for the sake of your side, you'll go with whatever report best suits your argument. The news that you don't agree with, or course you'll say is BS. You are just as biased as anyone.
