  • Thanks for your gracious response. I enjoyed listening to your version. Maybe you might do it again?

You obviously have talent. I like players that get 'carried away' and are passionate, but within the realms of what they playing.

I guess there loads of different 'versions' of Cavatina. Personally I love the John Williams (guitar) version. Enjoy!

  • What made you choose F major over E? Interesting.

I think you make it too concertoesque though. Sorry. The piece is more delicate than this. What modulations are you using in the middle and WHY?

  • @Mrphilharmonic, You're right, I should've played the piece a little more softly and not as fast... I guess I get into the music so much that I forget to slow down. Why the modulations? Because that is what was on the piano sheet music when I learned it. Thanks for the comment though, either way I enjoyed playing the piece.

  • Everything about you is beautiful....

  • the video editing... i was waiting for a scary ghost image to appear

  • Japanese Enka.

  • I also think most Cavatina versions on Youtube are played too fast, losing its emotion. That's a talent as well, knowing how to play a piece and having the patience for it. Sorry but you must follow the simplicity of the piece... All in all nice video!

  • Complimenti per il video. Anche per come suoni.

  • Complimenti per il video molto originale.

    Andrea

  • love this piece of music!!

  • ,,and she looks scarily similar to my ex girlfriend, even the lips, and how the eyes are, and how she sit in front of the piano the piano , and the expression on her face , even the style of the hairs is the same lol.

  • This looks scarily similar to my house, even the lamp, and where the curtains are, and where the piano is, and the cloth on the piano, even the type of curtain is the same lol.

  • that does actually sound kind of creepy... haha

  • oh i love this music, and i love the pianist too...

  • slow down.....keep the original

  • Good performance. But the extra notes spoilt the piece, don't you think? The beauty of this piece lies in its simplicity in the original version.

  • pretty good performance!

i liked the time change :)

  • well i never , they had vertical blinds back in 1978 ! wow you were posh then!

  • I like Xuefei Yang's guitar version.

  • "Cavatina" is a classical guitar piece by Stanley Myers and is most famous for its role as the theme from The Deer Hunter.

Following the release of The Deer Hunter in 1979, Williams's instrumental version of "Cavatina" became a UK Top 20 hit. Two other versions also made the Top 20 the same year - another instrumental recording by The Shadows and a vocal version (using Cleo Laine's lyrics) by Iris Williams.

  • Wonderfully played, and no, I don't thik it's to fast. It is played according to one's own mood, and style.

  • in 1979 the shadows had a number 1 with this tune and is still played by shadows groups all over the world

  • Too fast, too fast!

  • your just being modest... i suk... thanks for the confidence boost but

  • Very good, it just sounds strange hearing it without any guitar like the original John Williams version or the Shadows effort
