Well, next time you find the tabs read them properly as you WILL see that the find note (A) is played an octave lower than you played it. The origional by F.Tarrego used either the lower A or the harmonic.
I found the tabs on the internet. If you guys search for Tarrega Gran Vals, you'll find it. I can't remember which site it was, but it's easy to find and even easier to play. Thanks for the comments!

I normally use a pick to play and I primarily play on an electric guitar (blues, rock, jazz, etc.) so my fingerpicking really sucks!
