Definitely great video I notice you have similar hair texture to mines so that was a plus definitely gonna buy one now saw them at bed bath and beyond for 100$ and comes with everything
@macgirlie15 Thanks!! Oh, the TopStyler is STILL my fav. This vid was about 6 months ago. I've cut/trimmed my hair since then but my hair is actually longer now. I do plan on doing another TopStyler vid soon so you all can see how I play with it now. I love the fact it is now at Bed Bath & Beyond. I highly recommend you invest in the TopStyler..you won't be disappointed. It's a lot of fun to use :) Good luck.
@AndieLuvs2Laugh Hey there...it just depends on how long I'd left the c-shells in at the time I curled my hair and how tight the curls were. Usually even after combing my hair out and sleeping on it my hair is still slightly curly/wavy in the morning and all the next day. The curls last quite a while. HTH
Love your video. You are such an articulate and informative person. You are a beautiful young lady as well. Thank you for posting this video. We have the same hair grade, so I may try this :)
@phoenixmoon3 Thank you. Cool!! It always helps to be able to see someone actually use it on similar hair to yours. My hair is a lot longer now and I LOVE the waves/curls I get with my longer hair. I am hoping to do another video in the coming months. Be on the lookout!! :)
thanks for the review! i know for sure now that i want the topstyler! it's a great, thoroughly explained review and you're absolutely beautiful as well. :)
@4CONCEITEDGIRLSONLY Hi there. It works on relaxed or natural hair. I am not relaxed, but I do straighten my natural hair so it can be smooth for the best effect with the TopStyler. I hope Santa brings it to you this Christmas!! :) Take care.
GIRL! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! I just saw the infomercial early this morning, and immediately did research. I have natural hair and I only apply heat to it once a month now(blowdry & flat iron). ALWAYS looking for the next best thing. It's an older woman w/ a similar review on here....but she did it ALL wrong. She applied to to WET NATURAL HAIR! Smh...big no-no. You HAVE to at least blowdry, so her opinion was ignored. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! After watching you, im mos def purchasing the Topstyler!
@davonna5556 Thanks!!! Awesomeness!!! I love this thing. I will admit, the longer my hair grows I love it even more. It really is a lot of fun to use. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :)
@davonna5556 Oh, forgot to add, I definitely agree w/you. Sometimes you have to really make a product or tool work for YOU. I knew before I even purchased this that more than likely I would have to straighten or blow my hair out smooth to get a similar look like on the infomercial. Honestly, imo it's a combination of knowing your hair and common sense. I take no offense. The product wasn't marketed to make the hair "straight", it was marketed toward people who otherwise have hard to curl hair.
Thank you so much for such a great review. I'm old enough to be your grandma, but I want to be a hep grandma :) You're just very articulate, personable and so well spoken. Well done! Be well.
I didn't know wheather or not I should get this because I've heard lots of bad reviews about it.. but after seeing this and listening to what you had to say about it, like using hairspray to keep it in place and that it will last all day, I want it now :) my hair's very straight thin and flat and i need a little body ;)
@malady221984 I do plan on doing at least another vid with the TopStyler in the near future :) My hair has really grown since the last vid (I had trimmed almost 3inches off right after this vid actually and it has grown back fast). So be on the lookout!!!
thankyou so much for replying back i think iam going try it but u have a good idea cause i wouldnt like poofy roots either .So if it dosent look right iam going do the same thing u did thankyou again .P.S your hair is so pretty
@maladiy77 I know right!! I sometimes hit and miss and just mess around with it until I get a style that I like. It's kind of like going the stylist..you can never really recreate how they do your hair *sighs* lol
It sounds like you have naturally curly hair. My hair is super straight, super thick, and does not hold a curl AT ALL. Would this product work for me?
@hugtrees1331 Hi, my hair is natural, but I get it straight before using the TopStyler by flat ironing. I wish I had more of a "curly" pattern but I don't...it's actually more a wavy pattern :( This product should work really nicely for you. You can choose to maybe use smaller sections of hair to get more of a curly look and leave the C shells in longer so that the curls are set even more. I think it would work great for you! :)
my hair is natural and is poofs right up so iam really hope this product work because i already brought it this vid had straight hair is there any home vids with natural poofy hair.
@maladiy77 Hey there, my hair poofs bad too. I always flatiron my hair before I use the TopStyler because I don't want puffy roots. I haven't seen any vids where someone is using this on just "natural" unstraightened hair. I would suggest just trying it out to see how it comes out for you and then you can decide how you like to use it best. The only thing with using this on natural unstraightened hair is that the roots may be puffy, I don't like that look personally, but its up to the person.
@txb4u Hi. I have actually tried bantu knots, which Im HORRIBLE at. These curls do remind me of bantu knot curls, which is why I like this product plus it's like instant results. Thanks for watching :)
@s0flytai My hair is natural too. I haven't had a relaxer in almost 4 years & I have NO relaxed hair anywhere on my head. I straighten it with my Instyler to get it bone straight & it just happens to do this very well with my hair type. I think it would work just fine on any type of hair, however for me, I don't think I'd like puffy roots with the curls, so I like to straighten my hair first before using. I usually straighten my hair on wash days whether I use the TopStyler or not that week. HTH
Does it also last for like an 8 hour school day plus like mabey even after school when you stay to hangout? Ive told my mom about buying them for me when i saw the ad on tv and she said i can mabey get one before school starts and so i would really like to get one before it starts and i like the tutorial that you did it came out nice does it work well with naturally curly hair i have thick curly model- like hair like you see now on tv and stuff.
@chellodais27 The curls do last a good while. Depending on how small of curls I had, my hair has been curly or wavy the next day. You can make the curls tighter or looser depending on the number of fingers you use to wrap, how big the sections of hair you use, etc. Also, if its a hot, humid day or if you want extra hold you can use a hairspray or spritz for extra hold if you need it. You sound like you have beautiful hair btw. It works on all types of hair, just experiment with it. HTH
@windycitynatural I noticed you removed your comment but I decided to reply anyway. I will say that Im sorry you don't believe I am 100% natural, but I am sweetie. You do know that people have many different hair textures right? I use my Instyler to get my hair bone straight when I want to..like in this vid. I have also trimmed 2 1/2 inches from my hair since that vid & it has almost fully grown back. How's your Hair Journey going? Please keep it positive or keep it off my vids. Thanks!!!
I am 100% natural and have purchase the Top Styler. I was under the impression that you did not have to flat iron your hair before using the c-shell. The reason I purchase the product was to reduce the chance of heat damage. How long have you been flat ironing your hair before using the c-shells? Do you feel that you might get heat damage from flat ironing so much? Just my thoughts. I will be doing a video soon using my shells on my natural hair only.
@JayeJaye714 TopStyler can be used on any type hair. It's simply my personal preference to straighten my hair before using the TopStyler because I don't like puffy roots & my hair swells lots. There's no rulebook that says you have to do that. It's up to you how you choose to use it. Id like to see your vid or hear how it came out for you using it on your unstraightened natural hair. I use good heat protectant when I use heat, use it at a minimum, get trims regularly & suffer no heat damage.
@JayeJaye714 with that being said...I still use my heat protectant when using the C-Shells even though this is more indirect heat...it's still heat. HTH
@TheChouxGirl Thank you. I am going to try to blow dry my hair tomorrow and use the TopStyler again. I will celebrate my one year natural anniversary on this coming Sunday, July 17, 2011.
@MoneRedd That's a good question. I am 100% natural..no relaxer..so you can imagine how thick my hair and roots are after a fresh blow dry. Before I use the TopStyler, I personally flat iron my hair and then use the TopStyler a day or two later. I haven't yet used it on un-straightened hair. That may be something I could try and see what the result would be. My guess is it would be fine, but that the roots would be a little puffy possibly..but its all up to the person on what they prefer to do.
@MoneRedd You can use this product on natural hair yes. You don't necessarily have to have a relaxer to use it. It would be up to you if you wanted to semi-straighten or straighten your hair before using it. The reason I straighten before I use it is because my roots would be too puffy for my liking. @kerrierou Hello, yes, I always put a little heat protectant on my hair before using the C-Shells. Any heat protectant would do. I would actually still recommend using heat protectant even though using the TopStyler isn't necessarily "direct" heat..it's still heat nontheless. Afterward, you can use any product you wish..like a finishing spray, sheen spray or hair spray for extra hold. HTH
Do they sell these in stores? And how long after you ordered it did it come in? Pleases answer! This morning the advertisings were on and I they were talking about this and I LOVEDDDD it! You made me want to buy it even more. Thanks!
@KingfossTV Hi, sorry so late responding..my bad..I don't think its in stores just yet. When I ordered it, it took about 6-7 days to get it....not bad! I hope you get it...it's a real treat for yourself..so fun to use :)
I just found out about the TopStyler last night, i'm definitely buying this :D !! Thanks for uploading this and thanks for the turtorial :D !! I'm so glad I can do something about my hair :D !!
@SweetLindsey123 Hey...that is great! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I love my TopStyler..I used it yesterday again and did something different...it came out great...be on the lookout for more vids..I may have to show that style :)
Thank you so much for the video, I seen the infomerical last night and I really took a interest to it so I decided to google and come to youtube for reviews and I am sooo happy you did a review our hair looks like the SAME texture and length!! So you really sold me on the product LOL...I will be ordering the product today and hopefully I too can post a review =)
@vickytao2010 You are welcome! :) The curls last a long time...you can literally comb and comb and comb your hair out..and the curls just get looser and gains more volume.. they (the curls) don't really go away..I always have some curl/wave left the next day even after having slept on it.
@MissPJCL Glad I was able to do it. Thank you for watching! What I love about this product is the fact that it is not damaging (heat-wise) whatsoever...ideal for our hair ;)
Do you think this will work on naturally curly hair? I'm doing my best to avoid heat (blowdrying/flatironing) but I'd like a straighter option for some occasions. Bigger/looser curls.
@DontCallMeCharminCCC Hi there. If your hair is already naturally curly..you may want to either blow dry on low heat or lightly flat iron to straighten your hair just a bit (use a good heat protectant! :) and then use big sections of hair with 2 or 3 finger wraps with the C-Shells to achieve larger/looser curls. That is what I would suggest. Let me know how it works out for you if you get them and try it. Thanks for watching!
@poofie74 Thanks for responding! I will do more research on the product (since it cost so much) b4 purchasing but I will def let you know what happens if/when I get it. Thank you!
@gracyas1 Hey!! Girl, I wouldn't trade my TopStyler for anything in the world....I love it...it's so very worth it...go on and get you one :) Thanks for watching..

Hi, thank you for sharing. Can you tell me how long the curve could last?
vickytao2010 8 months ago

DontCallMeCharminCCC 8 months ago
@DontCallMeCharminCCC Hi there. If your hair is already naturally curly..you may want to either blow dry on low heat or lightly flat iron to straighten your hair just a bit (use a good heat protectant! :) and then use big sections of hair with 2 or 3 finger wraps with the C-Shells to achieve larger/looser curls. That is what I would suggest. Let me know how it works out for you if you get them and try it. Thanks for watching!
