  • The best and most understandable tutorial I've seen about Hair tools in 3ds Max Version 9 so far. Especially helpful if your a Max user who already has some prior experience with Hair plug-in's for Earlier versions of 3ds Max.

    hi all,

    i made a plane, applied hair and fur modifier and in dynamics rollout added a box and set the mode to "Live"

    simulation goes well to the some extent but when i bring the box closer to the plane, the hair passes through it, which looks unrealistic,

    what to do to make the simulation go right?

  • The collision is based on guide hairs and the hair segments, nor all parts. So take a look of those parameters

  • How do you increase the length of the hair????

  • go to styling/Style Hair

    and use the Scale function to scale up your hair

  • Chen, Your videos are very intuitive but may I make a suggestion on making your tuts. Try zooming in and panning using camtasia (or whatever you use). It will alow us to see and read what mods/tools you're using. Youtube sucks with their bandwith. I want at least 800x resolution.

  • You can google any of my videos title cause I upload all full size videos on my blog. They are 720x480 in resolution!

  • its righte the finalrender is faster. but Vray is batter. but for this model it's no metter wich render u use. u have a one mistake in doing hear and fur. when u want to do hair on your model's head, u do not have to detach some polygons. its better to add modifier hair and fur then swich selection tu select polys then select the polygons wich u want tu cover with hair and then klick the button update selection. and u see how the hai covers only the polygons wich u have selected.

  • I think Finalrender is faster than Vray. Facial studio 1.5.
