I get rid of my cold sores by keeping the sore covered with baking soda, it stings like hell at first but they dry up and disappear in a couple of days! It works for me all the time and now when they come they are smaller and smaller everytime and outbreaks are happening less and less, only had 1 in the last three years and it was eradicated in four days.

ALWAYS wash your hands before and after touching your coldsore, wash your pillow cases each night.. keep coldsore dry as possible dont lick your lips.. if the coldsore breaks open it will take 5-7 days to heal.. if your coldsore has broken open and you want to dry it out..the best is chlorhexidine 0.5% 70% alcohol..just put a few drops of this on there.. if you dont have any of that you can use iodine antiseptic.. if you dont wash your hands you can transfer this to the genital region! Or you could:

Get a saftey pin, sterilize it and pop the bubbles

Then soak it with salt water every couple if hours.

Then put vaseline on it.

I hadnt had a cold sore in several years. I thought to myself "Hey, I havnt had a cold sore in a long time" and guess what popped up on my lip the next day. It was the biggest one I ever had. Abreva almost always works. I use ice for 10 minutes then abrieva and it usually goes away in 3-4 days. But this time it just kept getting bigger. So my doc gave me Acyclovir 800mg, it may have shortened the time but I took it too late. Thanks Walgreens for delaying my pills until it grew.

Ice will keep it from getting bigger. if it's already grown into a full size coldsore then nothing will help. you must attack it once it tingles.

no the best way by far is this. Put ice on it once you either feel the tingle or see it start to form. hold ic eon for as long as you can stand. then put a mixture of asprin and hydrogen peroxide and let it set. keep doin it untill its dried out. sometimes you have to pop the blisters with a STERILE needle. It is a bit painful but trust and beleive, it works. just got one yesterday and its already a tiny scab

white vinegar works wonders. Its super cheap, its super effective, and its not toxic.. it is not poisonous or toxic. wash skin and air dry or wipe with cotton ball. DO NOT wipe with a towel-which harbors bacteria. take a different cotton ball and put vinegar on the cotton and touch it to sore. leave on 3-5 and RINSE with cold water and air dry. bacteria cant live in vinegar and the bacteria will die

::wouldnt tht sting and the nailpolish remover get in ur mouth is cotton wool a cotton ball? i have two cold sores one on my top right corner and my lower left corner and im up for anything does this work? will it be completly gone
