so obama is the lastest fecal matter to be tossed on to the greatest pile of shit in american political history; the whole kennedy myth is a facade and Obama's been an abomination who dug a debt hole that will destroy opportunity for a generation.
@andrelebaron If you are not a high executive of a big corporation or is forming part of the one percentage of this nation, then you need urgent psychiatric help!!
I know his twin brother Matt really well. Matt is a great guy and I hear Joe (his brother is a great guy too). Both are Havard educated, intelligent and will be a great catch (ladies).
@peachkim : Harvard isn't what it used to be. It's had its day, as have the rest of the former "Top Ten". Everything has a season, halcyon days and decline into obscurity. Nobody's fooling anybody.
@tiffanybottoms : I may not revere Old Man Kennedy, but I have to respect the fact that he knew what America is really all about, and simply acted on the knowledge.
Future president/senator/congressman for definite.
Interesting to watch as they mirror perfectly the British Royalty in that they are EXPECTED to go into the public domain and are therefore trained in events such as this to cut their teeth and get some training early on. If this guy doesn't become at least a senator I'll be amazed.
Let's hope this Kennedy of this generation makes it to his full potential and to old age. Kudos to his Dad, and to the rest of his family for the way this younger generation is turning out.
the English royal family do this kind of this this thing through duty. They are born into there role's. The Kennedy's are in a position where they do no have to pay for there student loans. The fact that the youngest members the Kennedy clan are prepared to go out and fight for people who are less well of than they are is very important. They are under no obligation to do so. This is someone acting out of a pure public service remit
Wow, he looks really Kennedyesque for the third generation since the greats. Anyone who says that it's a bad thing for people to get credit just for being related to famous people, WRONG. People who are related to people like John and Bobby Kennedy are also the ones most heavily influenced by them, from a young age, and have those family values instilled in them. There's nothing illegit about it.
"Hereditary right to rule"? Oh shut your fucking mouth. Are you just grasping for straws, trying to find someone whose words you can twist so that you can insult them? I was saying that people who are related to famous people are heavily influenced by them, so their achievements, if they do have *real* achievements, should not be scoffed at. The crap that came flying out of your mouth is like saying that if someone thinks the president should be respected, he believes that he is divine.
If that is your position, I wouldn't argue with the fact that people achievements shouldn't be minimized due to their famous relations. That is not, however, what you said.
Your statement was that it is acceptable for people to be "get credit just for being related to famous people." Also, that the offspring of influential people have "those family values instilled in them".
I'd like you to review your original comment, and let me know to which "*real* achievements" you were referring.
You're right, I misspoke in my first quote: I do think it's wrong for people to get credit *just* for being related to famous people, they have to do something on their own. But it's true that people who are related to influential people have heard about their family members and, by way of pure proximity, are more aware and more closely tied to the values of those people...on average, of course. Like the friends or close associates of famous people, except with a degree of separation.
Then I think our positions don't differ very much.
I think that people who grow up in the house of great leaders SHOULD be more in touch with the values that made their parent great.
This is not always or even usually the case, but it happens frequently. When someone who grew up in the household of a great leader has success in the same realm, it is natural and possibly correct to attribute it to their upbringing.
Simply assuming these traits will be passed on can be dangerous. e.g. "W"
reggie, of course JFK Jr lived in Tribeca NYC. But, the rest of them live in places like Hyannis Port, Palm Beach and Martha's Vineyard all white enclaves.
I wonder how old he is, just a little bit more fluency and patience and he can nail his speeches
