I have just passed my adi part 2 and find watching this video very unsettling as not even a dsa promotional video has a pupil passing the adi part 3 stage
1st. Phase assessment - Partly trained role play. Partial Fault identification made during shunt 1 of the turn in road. Identify the fault by all means, but don't feel that it is imperative to analyse and diagnose the fault at the end of each shunt. In this situation, we had another road user waiting patiently whilst Barry casually explained away an error on steering, which could have been identified, analysed and remedial advice offered after full completion of the manoeuvre.
I thought 4:34 he could have followed up with "why?" he chose the left lane. Why keep to the left to find out if the pupil has knowledge. Also, asking at 5:00 why he had held back on the car and for what reasons. Barry tended to give him the reason by saying "I liked the way you held back etc etc" He should have asked the pupil beforehand...."Why did you hold back???" These extras may have got him the pass!! Anyway, only a few thoughts and only my observations. thanks for posting!
@BlackMetalWarewolf Haha I suppose although the DSA have a habit of making things sooo much more complicated, just to make sure they get to keep most of their £62 cheques without dealing out too many pink photocards. Although I'm very cynical like that..

I find this video informative and helpful. It would have been nice to have heard why Barry failed! Thank you.

Keep to an indicated speed, and dont hit anything. thats the sum of driving lol. They make it 10 times harder than it should be.
