I served in the Marine Corp for 4 years. Totally untrue, JC. I am a straight woman who served in USMC back in the 70s. What the general public does not know is the military has to follow UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice). You cannot be forced to have sex with anybody. You are not even allowed to fraternize with someone above you in rank. The repeal was needed, but only because people who do not know about the military had worked themselves into a useless lather.

@runman1271 , gay people are not "unreasonable". When it comes to debates about themselves, it is those who oppose them who are unreasonable. Inferring design from form is unreasonable. Inferring abnormality from minority is unreasonable. What is won here is that you are exposed.
If the life expectancy of gay people (or any group) is reduced, the proper response is to reduce the causes, not just the direct, but the indirect (e.g. stigma). Placing blame is not an effective solution.

@runman1271 By all means, Romans 1:27 gives you all the authority you feel you need to avoid a same-sex relationship. It does not, however, give you any authority to deny others the right to enjoy the same privilege to make a life-long, legal commitment to the person they love. Homosexual couples, despite legal contracts and other agreements, have been denied the right to make medical, financial, or other legal decisions when their partners are not capable. They deserve equal rights.

Acts which cause the person distress can be considered a disorder, but homosexuality is not among them. Look at the DSM-IV, from the APA. It's the number one diagnostic tool for mental disorders. Homosexuality is not among them.

Only 1/3 of the congress is up for election every two years. The repubs won 2/3 of the seats that were up.
This was the largest number of Senate gains for the party since the 1994 election and also the first time since that election that they successfully defended all of their own seats.
So, historically, the election was priceless.
The dems won by much less and bragged they had a "mandate" from the American people

What do we do that is against nature, then, if many parts of nature have also engaged in homosexual behavior? Same-sex behavior is a nearly universal phenomenon in the animal kingdom, common across species. It's as natural as heterosexuality.

None are exactly the same. Some children show signs of confusion about their gender long before they are aware of sexual attraction. Some are even born with both sets of genitals. This is not about God but nature. We are not appointed as judges. You should think about why this disturbs or threatens you so much.

Totally untrue, JC. I am a straight woman who served in USMC back in the 70s. What the general public does not know is the military has to follow UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice). You cannot be forced to have sex with anybody. You are not even allowed to fraternize with someone above you in rank. The repeal was needed, but only because people who do not know about the military had worked themselves into a useless lather.
