Unfortunately, I must say that if set up properly and towards how I want it set-up, Linux Mint 8 Helena is a lot better than Windows, period. I still need to download debian packages for it so I can install WINE (which will load the .exe programs, meaning I can then start my Verizon Wireless internet service). PowerISO, game console emulators, the like. Linux 8 is still favored. As soon as I get done installing packages for it. ;)

Windows 7 seems so much more promising than Windows Vista...True stroy, I had XPS SP2 at the time and I tried an earlier beta for Windows Vista and it completely trashed my PC. I never touched Windows Vista again...I am/was a little mixed about Windows 7 , but with all the positive reviews and good feed back, hopefully my XP days are over :-P
Sadly, I can't afford WIN7. I own a MAC, it sucks. I am on ISSO PACK 5 to make it look like I have WIN7...no sidebar...no windows applications...oh well. I think the ISSO pack is already better than MAC. Well, that's my opinion.

You have Vista 64Bit so Install Windows 7 64bit over vista using the Upgrade Option and click Imnstall now then upgrade I would backup your pictyres, music, documents etc just in case they disappear but they should be there when you have upgraded to 7!

i built a computer for my grandparents and i installed windows 7 beta without the internet so no updates on the computer at all. It is fuzzy on the screen i have no idea what it is. would it be the graphics card. windows 7 beta needing updated. or the vga cable. my vga cable on about the same setup is cristal clear so it is not the size of the screen.

Yeah, I know there's compiz and emerald, but you often have to disable them because they glitch up with a lot of apps.
Aero doesn't glitch up and it works great with nearly all modern apps without glitching, and it's effects and look are beautiful enough. :)

Beta versions of software are basically either unstable or unfinished builds for preview

Large exaggeration. I could say "Mac is a tank and PC is a unicycle" but thats not accurate. Something like
"Pc is a brand new motorcycle, and if your an expert driver you can make it do things no one could ever imagine. But when it's time to get a new one, it isn't going to sell.
Mac is a similar motorcycle, but with a built in owner's manual. An expert can always through away the manual and do what he wants. Diff is, when it comes time to sell it, it's still as good as new" is more accurate.

PLEASE HELP,
So i got a windows 7 premium edition today, and was wondering how to install it, i got Windows Vista 64bit now, so can i just insert the disc and choose install now, and upgrade? Or do i need to back up my files to a separate Drive, i got a 200g drive i can keep with me, and how should i start? Id love some fast replys cant wait, Thanks beforehand, i really need help in this : )

You have Vista 64Bit so Install Windows 7 64bit over vista using the Upgrade Option and click Imnstall now then upgrade I would backup your pictyres, music, documents etc just in case they disappear but they should be there when you have upgraded to 7!

i built a computer for my grandparents and i installed windows 7 beta without the internet so no updates on the computer at all. It is fuzzy on the screen i have no idea what it is. would it be the graphics card. windows 7 beta needing updated. or the vga cable. my vga cable on about the same setup is cristal clear so it is not the size of the screen.

just stick a copy of windows xp on or download Windows 7 Final Build 7600 and burn it to a disk, because the beta doesnt work that well on built computers

Windows 7 is totally gonna pwn vista. I'm using it already and it's so much more compatiable with things and I haven't occured a single problem yet with it. Still nothing ever beats XP.

It's generally known, however, that XP is and will be the OS for Netbooks. Microsoft may not be my favorite company in the world, but they're a lot better than they used to be. They have one goal above all others the same as any other: to make money. Stop expecting Microsoft to become "open source" idiot.

If by high-tech, you mean linux still looks exactly the same as it did 10 years ago (Akin to people still using win9x look in modern windows), then .. sure?
Yeah, I know there's compiz and emerald, but you often have to disable them because they glitch up with a lot of apps.
Aero doesn't glitch up and it works great with nearly all modern apps without glitching, and it's effects and look are beautiful enough. :)

pcs still need to make pcs more liek macs with out that bick heavy brick and make somes like macs with the hardrive in the screen i no pc has like only one type
