  • We asked about that. The US Army Corp of Engineers said they would NEVER OK a north/south road from Wylie to the peninsula. Any road crossing the lake or Corps lands must provide regional benefit and they said a north/south bridge would only be for local benefit. Furthermore, as the routes are proposed now, the Corps says they will not approve any of them. This obviously has not stopped Collin County. The next public meeting on the Bridge route will be March 2010.

  • Collin County may not have a March meeting either. Seems this bridge might be heading nowhere fast. I most recently heard that the next meetng could be postponed for another couple months. May or after? Could it be that the October 7th meeting made a difference? YEP! I think so!

  • There will be no changes made to the east/west bridge plans unless more talk is given to the north/south bridge. Please encourage the development of the north/south bridge. Advantages: no private land needed, 1/4 th the length of the east/west bridge & road, improves access to peninsula, creates a major path to Rockwall, Garland, hwy 30. We will get improved land values and quick development that will benifit all residents on the lake and Collin county.
