Fungus gnats (family Sciaridae) are found in and around damp areas such as wet floors or benches with decaying vegetable matter, algae, and/or fungi present. Adult female fungus gnats lay eggs in soil or growing media. The eggs hatch into larvae that feed on plant roots
I added around 1 to 2 inches of sand in each pot to kill the larvae and prevent future eggs from being laid
im growing ak-47 outdoor and i have got a big rabbit problem they keep eatin the fuck out of my plants. They hav killed them all apart from 1 and all the bottom branches have gone on it does any1 know how to stop them thx x.
get a rabbit hating dog to spook them on be on guard yourself remember they are living creatures too man so be cool just put up a barrier fence somethimg high so they don't leap over it and good luck
gnats are a joke. cut a water bottle, put a banana in it, close with transparent saranwrap and poke few holes. They will all leaves the plant, the soil, etc to go in there for the sugar in the banana and can't go out. For the larva in the soil you can also use patato slice on the soil, they will go on the patato slice and stay there... after few days you put the patato slice on garbage. 5 days and you are 100% clean.
@LikeTotallyRich Great tips I agree but only if ya catch them early enough but for a large infestation you would be lucky to keep the numbers down..gnats are not a joke
@BiG420ToMaTo420BuDs predatory nematodes work great for larvae, stopping the flyers coming out of the soil is key, sticky traps set on the pots upside down help
i had a dirt grow at one point and i got rid of the gnats by using sand and covered the top layer of the soil with sand(the one u get ina playground sandlot) i sued htat and it basically choked them out and that ended within a week
throw it all away and start over, get a sulphur burner and your disease is calcium iron and magnesium deficiency, go get your self some cal mag or step it up too bud factor x if your in bloom, get some oscilator fans in there for heaven sake. and have fun smoking your boo boo
a great method i just learned to kill fungus gnats is Apple Cider Vinager, put some in a cup next to your plants, they gnats get stuck inside and the vinager kills them. There are speciall traps you can also make to catch the gnats, but eventually the apple cider vinager does the trick. Also keep your soil as dry as possible, and only feed nuts with spray bottle, only spraying the bottom part or the stock, and as little as possible. Remember you wann it dry a bit to dryout/kill the fungi/shrooms
you have to kill the fungus.....i used 35% hydrogen peroxide diluted. 3 oz-2 gal h20. drench containers, let sit for 1/2 hour. flush w/ plain h20. repopulate w/ great white fungus/bacteria and bti. also, use sticky traps for the adults. good luck.
By the way, if you do have fungus gnats, they aren't too harmful to ur plants, but they are definetly annoying and could potentially attack your roots. They eat the fungus, and dead plant material in your soil and when thats depleted they'll eat your roots.
just spray with Neem oil, and keep it dry until theyr gone. It could take a few days, but if they dont go away keep spraying with need oil and water with peroxide. (1gallon water/1tbsp peroxide) Lady bugs would eat them up quickly. i heard if u put a bucket of coffee with a cup or two of sugar that will also kill off the fungus gnats. The idea is they'll attract to the sugar and get trapped and die from the coffee, and wont be able to lay eggs, then the population will eventually die.
i think this fogger i got today burned my leaves a bit.. a fair amount..im gonna try and prevent with azamax next grow.. im sure the fogger worked good but my leafs took a bit of a beating.. . ide recomend not evne spraying ur plants completley direct with the fog..at the same time do what u gotta do to kill pests quick. its go or die at that pont
hey my plant got fungus on the soil and my buddies mom told me to use Hydrogen Proxide while watering. I used way more water then Proxide and it re-oxygenated my soil and DESTROYED the fungus. Ever sense then my plants been looking awesome and on tack to success =D

hey guys i just found out my current plant has spidermites just like the last.. and my ventilation is really good.....the humidity is typically at about 40 or 45.. which is great for my climate.. . im wondering how to use neem oil... can i prevent spidermites all together by spraying in veg. if so how often should i spray... how long before harvest should i not spray.. .. my plant is just like 2 and a half weeks into budding.. im gonna get some neem like tommorow..
i find myself irratated at people that dont know what they are doing. no offense to you but if i had adank seed like that i would do everything in my power to prevent it from deficiencies it is NOT a disease its just simply because of a lack of a certain nutrient it most definitly is not fungus and your fungus gnat issue is from overwatering
@detroitmadness96 ha you are dumb no it is called a fungus gnat for a reason im battling them aswell living in new mexico i water once or twice a week 5 gallon pot so i know its not to much water/humidity aswell all the worlds best nutrients are totaly useless without proper p.h and ec you will lock out other nutes and cause disease plant disease is classified as anything visibly afflicting the plants anything causing symptoms in wich you can see get educated before you run your mouth
HELP !!! whit my Caramel Kush. PESS from (MONTENEGRO) X-Yugoslavija .
Looks like your room may be warm. I noticed the tips of the leaves turned up (sign of overheating) and also the mites love a warm, dry room. 4preventative measures, Neem once-a-week! assuming you've got everything else right! Good luck
adjust the pH. it should be about 6.8 but more acidic to fight bugs. dont go off and use a bunch of chem that your plants r not used to. it will kill them.
For powdery mildew or fungus mix milk (from your fridge) 1/2 to 1/2 water, spray well, once a week for 3 weeks. under side of leaves too. It will kill fungus. For the knats.. NEXT time, pour boiling water into the dirt before you start, obviously let it cool.. but they will spawn from fresh bags of soil or be in the mix. I have also heard, that if you go out and buy some fine sand and put a 1 inch layer over soil they die. Get em quick they will KILL your plants, they live on the root sys.
@PGFIGHTS Whoa. Seriously?? Thats just crazy, you are the first person that has told me this. No kidding.. if you do know more email me here. YOu can also find me on FB via my page and if you want to get ahold that email fine too. I would be curious to know more about that, and how it is treated when hydro is the concern
Fungus gnats like moisture in the soil. Let your pots dry right out and use some neem oil diluted in water with a little dish soap and soak the plant and soil.
hey does any1 know if the wrong air conditions could cause white spots on a plant that then start browning and eventually becoming small holes? or would this be ONLY fungal or infestation, cant find anything matching my *cough* my mates description
@wotusay69 if your seeing small burn wholes on your plants it could also be because if your using concentrated nutrients and happen to splash a couple drops on your leaves the concentrate will burn a whole through your leaves under the hot hps.
put a potato piece on top of your soil and the larve will come to the top to eat the potato then take it out and put a new one every week they will eat the piece of potato insteed of your roots its a great trick also you can put a bowl of water with 25% bleach and water and they will fly in and not out
mix a good amount of Diatomacious Earth into the top layer of the soil. It will slice open gnats and larvae in the soil and they will ALL DIE. D.E. is essential stuff to have.
Get some Azamax 2oz per gallon of water it kills a lot of unwanted pest put it in the soil and spray the leaves with 1 oz per gallon of water every 10 days for one month hope that helps
I enjoyed the info and music at the end of this vid, normally I don't care for nonsense, but you had a nice balance of info in there and it kept me watching. Good luck to ya. Night Elf Mohawk- good one loved it
1.) stop watering let everything dry out up to the point that plants actually start to wilt a bit.
2.) once your at that point water the plants with 1/5 hydrogen peroxide 4/5 water with 1 table spoon per gallon of nature guard soap.
You can also mix the nature guard soap with water and neem oil to spray the leaves.
