  • What about artillery rounds.

  • Lets see. Skipped to the #1. 22,000 lb-ft of energy? odd. The 22M vulcan and the .908 both have 38,000. Seems twice as powerful as this crappy list.

  • need 2 videos, 1 for power , 1 for velocity, 2 different subjects.

  • 2.20, what is the boltgun cartrigde doing over there?

  • 950 jdj?

  • ummm...did anyone else notice that the .700 hubel is loaded with a 12 gauge slug???

  • Rounds not mentioned that are centerfire rifle and exceed this chart.

    20mm

    15.2x169mm (IWS-2000 round)

Most powerful is .905 JDJ, exceeding even 20mm

  • No 20 mm?

  • thumbs if u skiped to the end

  • 20x102 has a 100 gram bullet fired at a muzzle velocity of 1,035 m/s (3395 ft/s). For a simple slug round this is a muzzle energy of 53,567 joules (or approximately 39,507 ft-lbf).

    Source- wikipedia 20_mm_caliber.

There are a few rifles now in production to fire the 20mm.

  • JDJ .950

  • The Hubel cartridge. I have spoken to Hubel regaridng his cartridges and can absolutely positively state it is a hoax cartridge. He merely made money just selling his "cartridges" sans bullets as curios... that my friends was his business angle. In fact we investigate Mr. Hubel's claims for an article and found that any velocity claims by him were unfounded. As a physicist it was put to me to calculate a theoretical velocity of the cartridge... no where near anything Ed claims.

  • @deusimperator So Hubel was a liar?

  • @Master11782 Lets just say he makes a tall claim though a fairly innocent one.

  • @deusimperator Is your name Sheldon Cooper?

  • wheres .338 lapua

  • @MrNygiants5666

.338 lapua is barely over 5000 ft lbf at it's best, these start at mid 9000 range.

  • .950 JDJ blows these all out of the water numberswise 38,685 ft-lbs muzzel energy

  • sory i have a 357 h&h mag it will kill just about every think in the world

  • 1:36 - 1 real

  • ive held a .50 bmg round before. there was the actual rifle for sale there for $10,000. it was at the country store in clinton, missouri

  • The most powerful handgun fires the .600 nito express and is a six-shooter wheel gun.

  • @clutchcrazy888 I have seen the rifle in action for a .905 JDJ but not the .950, although I did see the bullet, I am sure the rifle exists.

  • @frknnutz There is a video in related to this one :P

  • The Anzio mag-fed 20mm is the largest caliber rifle.

  • Comment removed

  • Where is the 20mm, It has a energy of like... 38,000 ft-lbs.

  • #5 was 950 jdj

  • Where's the .22LR?

  • @joestrummer95 i was just going to post that but then saw your comment.

  • @joestrummer95 A ha, a ha, so funny. To be honest, more people have probably died from .22LR rounds than half of these odd ball cartridges.

  • @leftthenormalworld slips in the bath tub have killed more people than any of these accept 50bmg

  • @biggunzcdb Haha! True, you might have a point there. Except for the Russian 14.5x114mm. That's like the Russian equivilent to the .50BMG, they have used it in alot of their stuff. Tanks, planes, helicopters, infantry weapons, etc.

  • @leftthenormalworld At $40+ dollars a round, you can't afford to shoot anyone with most of them. And with a rifle that weighs 90+ lbs, you couldn't hold it steady enough anyway.

  • @cowboyarchangel $40? That's a tank of gas in my car! Last time I was in Wal-Mart they had a box of I think around 2,000 .22LR rounds on sale for like $15 to $20. Advantage .22LR shooters, get more ammo for less money. Shoot all day long!

  • 12,107x108 for dškm is more power than .50 BMG.

  • I took a 50 cal to the knee lolz

  • I think coors light should have been #1

  • biggest cartridge = chuck norrises cock

  • 1. 20 x 104mm Vulcan, 1600gr bullet at 3,300 ft/s with 38,686 ft/lbs

    2. 950 JDJ, 3600gr bullet at 2100 ft/s with 35,249 ft/lbs

    3. 14.5x114mm Russian, 1,026gr bullet at 3,300 ft/s with 24,520 ft/lbs

    4. 700 Hubel Express, 1,000gr bullet at 3,000 ft/s with 19,995 ft/lbs

    5. 50 McMillan Big Mac, 750gr bullet at 3,300 ft/s with 18,134 ft/lbs

    6. 2-Bore S&H Blackpowder Express, 3,500gr bullet at 1,500 ft/s with 17,484 ft/lbs

and there are MANY MANY others

  • meant to say fat mac, not big mac

  • @drewnickel also between 3 and 4, I forgot the 50/20 Anzio, which fires an 800gr .50 caliber bullet at 3600 ft/s, with 23,000 ft/lbs of energy

  • @drewnickel I agree with your choice but I would on first place add Hispano granade 20 x 110mm for RT-20 anti tank rifle most powerfull "handcannon" if you don't believe it...see it: "Croatian Antimaterial Rifle RT-20 - 20x110mm Hispano (part 3)"

  • @FRforcing the 20 x 110 would technically be the second most powerful as it fires a 2,000 grain bullet at 2,900 ft/s with 37,344 ft/lbs

  • @drewnickel i don't know about that but if the worlds experts rate him as most powerfull and effective...one word "best" ;)

  • question; casing found looked like the .55 boy anti tank rifle ammo, but only has 81 on the bottom of casing, what does this mean

  • @slingnails1 I might know what you are talking about but could you describe more of what the cartridge looks like? And is "81" the only marking on the casing?

  • @Master11782 What about the Soviet 14.5X114 that was used on anti tank semi auto rifles.

  • @slingnails1 Is it the 6.5×55mm round? Go on Google Images and see if that is the round.

  • @slingnails1 if its a military case that would be the year it was loaded

  • @slingnails1 The pics of the Boyes Anti-Tank rifle rounds are incorrect. It is actually a belted cartridge just a tad bigger than the .50 BMG, with a steel .558 diameter bullet diameter. How do I know? I have one.

  • Comment removed

  • The 50 FAT MAC. Developed by rifle maker Gale McMillan, the Fat Mac is made from a drastically altered 20mm Vulcan cannon case. The shoulder is pushed back to a 30° angle and the case trimmed to a length of 2.6" with a very short neck.

  • they kinda look like penises

  • you guys are all stupid.

    jk

    look up little david cannon

    like 970 mm? i think

  • @airsoftsmackthewall He meant top 10 most powerful Small-arms weapons, as in rifle, handguns, shotguns, and what not.

  • @TFfreak194 well, i know. just wanted to share it. the first video i saw it shoot, it broke the base of it. lol.

  • @airsoftsmackthewall Hm. I want to see that. lol

  • Thumbs up for AC/DC in your clip!

  • i had a bb gun that shot faster than #5...

  • very nice video dont understand the rating!!!!!

  • The biggest Mute in the World!!

  • im sure theres some wildcat rounds out there that noone really know about but cool video

  • When I saw the 577 as #10 I was like jesus what are the other 9

  • Yawnnnn

  • @seckixf Can't believe you took the time to weite that comment.

  • Cant believe some tard sat for probably a couple of hours to make this shit video

  • Where is the .950 JDJ? That's more powerful than any of these cartridges.

  • Most powerful rifle .950!

  • what do you think about .950

  • what about .22 short !?!?!?!?!?!?

  • the 14.5x114mm would have been used in the ptrs-41, a russian anti-tank rifle, and like SSgt24thMEU said, .950JDJ and 20mm are NOT handeld, although they would be more "powerful." anything bigger than these cartridges are not gonna be handheld.

  • That is my point, this video was meant for handheld cartridges. Even though I didn't mention it, I thought it was pretty obvious in the video.

  • @Master11782 I doubt the 14.5mm round was used in a weapon that can be described as "hand held." One person might be able to lug it around, but if that's the case, the Lahti L39, with it's 20mm cartridge should also qualify. And what about the .700 Nitro Express?

  • @leftthenormalworld What about it?

  • @Master11782 Hate to point out the obvious, but, it's not on the list. It has a higher muzzle velocity, and projectile weight than the .600 Nitro Express, therefore making it a more powerful round. If the .600 Nitro Express is on the list, the .700 Nitro Express should be too.

  • @MrCoolbob10 what about the anzio 20mm?

  • @MrCoolbob10 really? cause i believe solothurn s-18 was a shoulder fired 20mm, in fact there are quite a few different 20mm shoulder fired weapons, also was wondering where the 13.2mm mauser was in that list. or the 585 nyati, or the 729 jongmans

  • @MrCoolbob10 they have made rifle for both the 20mm and the .950JDJ

they are rediculously heavy buy still

  • @MrCoolbob10 depends on what you want to consider as handheld!? noone shoots a 50 bmg while moving, with a bipod you can even shoot 20 mm ammunition, which is a lot bigger than the 950 jdj

  • @MrCoolbob10 there a vid of a guy on here shooting 1.. in a cradle..

  • Comment removed

  • @MrCoolbob10 actually there is a sniper rifle that fires the 14.5x114mm and also can fire the 20x110mm round. look up the denel NTW-20. it's made in south africa and has a chamber in the rear to disperse most of the recoil along with the use of a muzzle brake

  • Where in the hell is the 16" gun from the USS missouri

  • @immapopcha That's what i was thinking!

  • .700 hubel express, would that be enough power for a squirrel, I mean a clean kill without suffering? Just trolling.

  • How about the 40mm Cartridge

  • you forgot the .950 JDJ

  • This guy has no idea what he's talking about. Very few of these would actually on a top ten list of most powerful handheld weapon cartridges. They aren't even ordered in any way...

  • Why don't you watch it over again. The cartridges are in order of f-lbs of force. This just goes to show you have really shitty attention to detail, haha.

  • @Master11782 Shows how you still have no idea what you're talking about. Muzzle energy alone does not determine how powerful the cartridge is. That is only how much energy is produced when firing the weapon. To make a true list of most powerful cartridges you'd have to compare velocity, range, energy, and destructive power then round all that together into some type of ranking system, maybe even a graph and then you get your most powerful cartridge by what it scores in rank or on the graph sheet

  • @Master11782 In turn this video should have been titled "Top Ten Cartridges With Most Muzzle Energy (That I Know Of)" since as I and many others have said, these are not the top ten most powerful cartridges in the world...

  • hey buddy you forgot the Anzio 20mm X 108mm and the .950jdj

  • Where is .950 JDJ, Horandy A-Max, and the granddaddy 20mm? You should have stated the video was for handheld firearms.

  • i feel u are missing the 416 Barret and the 408 chay tac

  • What about the cap gun?

  • yep definitely missing the 20mm

    nice try though

  • wheres the 950 jdj it puts up to over 38000 flbs of energy

  • lol #6 is the 0.666 Teuffel. 666 is associated with the devil which is linked to death.

  • Comment removed

  • the .666 has teufel written next to it which means devil

  • lahti l39 NUF said

  • what about a .22 those are pretty powerful

  • wow u know your guns so well? where the hell is the .950 jdj? that has 38,000 foot pounds of muzzle energy and its not even on here that is sad that is almost twice what your number one gun has lol get good

  • @xxyoung1xx1

Because a person can barely carry a rifle chambered in that? If I got the worlds strongest man to pick up and fire a small artillery piece does that make it a handheld weapon system? No it needs to be able to be carried by a single person easily enough to get around with it..

  • Sorry, but you're wrong. The #1 spot actually belongs to the .950 JDJ

  • thumbs up if you think the .50 bmg is most powerful

  • actually 105 shell witch are literally 3-4 feet long

  • I didn't write it in the title because I thought it was implied, but these are the most powerful cartridges of handheld firearms.

  • @dragon10282000 that's an artillary shell though, we talking like big game rifles here

  • @dragon10282000 ... the shell its self is not 3-4 feet maybe a couple inches under 3 feet

  • the .55 boys are defininitely .303's, i own one.

  • The image for the .55 Boys round is incorrect. those looked like .303 rifle rounds

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • .950 JDJ u forgot that 37000 ft lbs ....

  • LOL that double bored is like getting ran over by a 5000lb truck going 45 mph hahahahahahaahhaha

  • And what about the .950 jdj?

  • @Malvinman13 and what about .22 sr ;P

  • @Malvinman13 lol i meant .22 short ;P

  • @Malvinman13 is a weakened 20mm caliber, there are rifles that fire full skale 20mm ammunition

  • @Malvinman13 never made more then a few show guns, call SSK industries and try and order one. also all the ammo you see is dummy, no live ammo was ever made

  • Is the .666 a german bullet? Teufel means Devil in german...

  • just get a 30mm anti air gatling gun.

  • thats wrong. the .950 jdj is bigger with 38, 685 pounds of energy, fires 3600 grain bullets and goes 2200 fps.

  • I believe the MacMillan is right where it is... on paper. But in real life I think it holds number 2

  • the last looks like a 243 win mag to me

  • what abouth the 30mm bullets of the gattling gun that the A-10 thunderbolt carry, is a raining hell

    /watch?v=j5Y66p_vR2g&feature=related

    /watch?v=sALiuWg_I1k&feature=related

  • @ocomvexa A-10's fire a 20mm, not a 30mm...just lettin ya know

  • @wvdeerhunter62 A 3 year old using google for the first time will find the A-10 uses a 30mm round.

  • Errrr 20mm vulcan Anzio rifle fires a cartridge with almost 40,000pounds of energy....

  • @MrSMILEY169 fired a 20mm vulcan and a 50bmg yesterday side by side and would agree the 20mm is just plain nasty powerful compared to the 50bmg!

  • @ky1davis i know i so want one but im in england and guns are incredibly heavily restricted :( you need personal express written permission from the home secretary to own a semi auto rifle never mind a 20mm with 5000 yard range!

  • @MrSMILEY169 but they only fire out of volcun cannons it cant be hand held but your facts are right lol

  • @MrSMILEY169 It's considered an explosive device I think.

  • @MrSMILEY169 950 jdj can hit with 45000 foot pounds and it is not listed

  • music is crap

  • @hobie65202 Your crap

  • Yeah... lots of power.. and ?

No Accuracy ? No long range... no possibilty of armor Piercing ?

Just a bullet for a freaking T-Rex or Buffalo

  • and of course the last ones russian!!!

  • hi,thx.pls name of song?

  • in the credits

  • Sorry to be misleading you guys. I did some more research and found out that the S&H 2-Bore Blackpowder Express has 17494 ft-lbs of force, while the .950 JDJ has 38,685 ft·lbs of force. When I found that out I couldn't believe how much more power the .950 JDJ has.

  • Deadbull7 ur right. That's the biggest and most powerful cartridge

  • .666 bullet? damn.

  • Lol, ironic isn't it?

  • @Master11782 Its more ironic that Teufel is Devil in German...

  • anzio rifle works makes a 25 mm rifle.

  • Where's the .950 JDJ

  • I don't think any reseach was put into this video. The 14.5mm JDJ makes 18,992 ft·lbf and isn't even in the count down? What about the 12.7x108 at 13,670 ft·lbf and where is the .950 JDJ on this list?

  • This video is lame

  • you dont have the .950. thats the most powerful

  • Pictures of the Hubel wildcats are wrong. The 585 is belted, whereas the cartridge in the middle is rimmed ( probably the 12 gauge from hell) . The 700 hubel picture is wrong, the round in the photo is the 12 gauge from hell. The 55 Boyes was belted too, the rounds pictured looks like 303 british rounds. The 660 NE was not a H&H design, it was created by Jeffery. The "HH" in that headstamp means "Horneber Hulsen", the german maker that made that case

  • .950 JDJ is more powerful than your number one

  • .950 JDJ, 3,600 gr 38,685 ft·lbf

  • I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • FYI-50 McMillan FatMac is a 20mm vulcan shortened and necked to .50 cal. used in FCSA comp.

  • Hey bro it's me. Anyways the kids name Mrhomeworkout. He should be on my page or whatever that thing is called. Sorry it took so long, but ever sense bin ladens replacement, fuck.

  • Thats rough man, just keep up the good work over there. I'll message that guy for you.

  • 14.5x114mm? Holy shit, that thing must be horribly beastly.

  • it is

  • Yeah I whisked that too. I guess it's good to be back in the states to take a break. I'm thinking about going home for awhile sense I'm here. The only thing I keep wondering how the hell they found us

  • Yeah, they probably were tipped off or something.

  • But I'm going to give you warning now, the tahlaband soldiers you may come across, be careful man. They arnt to happy. Some of them think that bin laden's death is a joke but you know how they are. I mean a tanks a big target so, good luck.

  • Shit man, this last week has been horrible. Mortars started landing on us so we decided to move. There where events I cant talk about that happened, but I'm back in the states for a couple weeks so they can find another position for the base. This is the only crapy part of having a base that's basically a camp.

  • It is good to be back in the states, get a break from all the shit overseas. I hope you guys didn't lose a lot of men.

  • 2:13 coinshot?

  • Crap, sorry about saying the amount of kills I have. That's not something I usually mention for obvious reasons. But I got excited.

  • Its fine bro, I'll be back there in "Fox" given you boys on the ground support. And "Fox" does not play well with others, lolol!

  • @Master11782, hahahaha, i bet we doesnt. and guess what, neither do the Airborne Rangers. shit i hope i am part of the "clean up crew" and they send battle active troops out there. becouse it is so fucking cold where i am and im sick of it, artic warefar, its not really artic its just the technical name, sucks. i enjoyed bahgdad so much more becouse there was actully local people, where i am your lucky to see a bird.

  • That sucks man, I hated Iraq though. It can get up to 120 degrees in the tanks and there is no A/C.

  • @Master11782, damn, it must be like a fucking oven in there, i mean i would think there would be A/C. why isnt there . but the reason why i hate it here is becouse of the fucking ice, you spill a little water and you can spend hours trying to get that shit off. i like bahgdad more becouse it wasnt so isolated and becouse when we are out there, the enamy has four choices, run and have a huge chance of getting killed, stand and fight and maybe kill us, surrender, or die. out here its three choices

  • I always wondered why there wasn't A/C, i guess the DoD didnt think that through. that must suck out there man, you have to deal with mountain terrain and the cold.
