FIFA Soccer 64

I always remembered the slow Middlesbrough player on this game - every player would be on the pitch but that one player would still be running out of the tunnel. Classic.

This game was fairly hot stuff in terms of it's graphics, overall presentation and could also boast the licenses but by god this had the worst gameplay I have ever seen in a football game. It was unresponsive, occasionally glitchy but mostly just awkward as all hell to play. There may be worse football games out there but because this was put by the biggest football video game name on the planet, on balance I would put this at the bottom of the pile.

I owned this game and I believe I have the authority to say that it was BAD. Very difficult to score via an aerial ball, very sluggish, just bad overall. 97 - 07 were the fallow years for the FIFA franchise.

WTF?? it was EASY as hell to score goals. Get the ball with any player and tap the shit out of left C button. when you pass all the defenders, the goalie will try and stop you by trying to go in front of you and kicking the ball away but all you have to do is simply walk around him and into the net. LOL, or you could just kick when you're in front.

World Cup 98 was the first 3D soccer game I played, and it was a blast! The feel of THAT game was what drove the series, not this one! And it was much better! The controls were much more fluent, and the visuals were much better! Thank god I never played this first!

Wow, the sad thing is this was the first game I got for my N64 but don't ask me why. Anyway, this game was baaaaad, I remember it was virtually impossible to head the ball into the net,lol. This narrator sounds almost robotic, like he's reading off cue cards or a script but he's really nervous and he's never seen the script before. Anal-louge?? LOL

I remember a few bugs in this game. It was one of the first computer console games I ever owned. You could turn and use the clearance button from kick off and curl it straight over the keeper and into the net. There was also a ridiculously slow player for Middlesbrough (I think) who took about 3 mintues after kick off to get onto the pitch. You'd be playing on the wing and could see him still coming out of the tunnel towards the pitch. I used to love it, but watching this video I'm not sure why!

i had an n64, twice as powerful as a psx but it was strained by a cartridge, they should have brought out a cd rom for it as well, then maybe it would of kicked the psx's ass!
