For a german review just check my video about the ultrabook: /watch?v=KHV5zZ01OkM&list=UUrmv9n8fIIpKRoSw2xJHRUA&index=1&feature=plcp have fun guys! :D
srsly, who would ever "give up" the keyboard and the touchpad on a product like this? I'm gonna try it and if that is true, screw that, the umpteenth bad apple copy.
Totally agree with all these commenters. Stop comparing all these amazing laptops to the macbook air... This guy thinks we're all poor-ass, inferior idiots who aren't "worthy" of a macbook air... Why do people assume the mac has everything and the PC is just playing catchup with these missing features? News flash, if we're watching this, we probably searched for/want an Asus Zenbook rather than a "cheap copy" macbook air, which it clearly is not..
I think that Asus is starting to be a pain in the ass for those in cuppertino, with the Transformer Prime and this Zenbook, the iPad 2 and the Macbook Air have been already beaten by Asus, now they just need a notebook that can beat the Macbook Pro in terms of power, size, weight and battery life to become the definitive mobile computing company, also, they need to make a ROG notebook that can make us forget the amazing Alienware M17x R3...
@leninhitlerjuanpablo Until Asus gets it's customer service and quality up to par with Apple they'll never catch up. Cheap prices might get plenty of people to buy but when things go wrong and Asus angers all of them with poor service, Asus won't be getting repeat business. Apple creates loyal buyers through quality and better customer service. Apple does drop the ball occasionally. They aren't perfect. They're just better than everybody else. That's all it takes.
@MrMoneyHelper i agree with you on the great customer service that Apple gives to their clients but i think that the Asus quality is superb, also, i'm about to buy the G74sx from Asus mostly because it offers a global warranty, that means that if im in Australia (for example) they would dod valid my warranty in that plce even if i bought it on Hawaii, i think that i help with the cheap prices the fact that they make a lot of components...
If I had one of these I'd run Linux on it. I've never been happy with Windows Vista or 7. Once you get Linux configured it works better than OS X. The problem with Linux is that it takes a long time to find all the programs that are needed and then often they need to be tweaked for the particular hardware configuration. I still like OS X. I use it daily, but when I'm on Linux things run faster. I hope these companies making ultrabooks can keep it up. Their sales figures are low. They might quit.
@erdal0 It's true that it takes a while to hunt for a few programs and install them. Once the tweaking is completed your computer will run so much better than it ever did with any Windoz product. I'm not a Linux guru. Linux forums are the best places for help. Many people helped me with coding. There are tons of free programs in all areas of business and fun in Linux repositories. Most are as good or better than paid programs. I'll gladly pay for good software when needed (just not MS).
@leninhitlerjuanpablo Linux has Wine. It is free. There are paid ones too but I don't use such software. I have a dual boot. There are benefits to using virtual machines in Linux. If Windoz gets a virus in a virtual environment you just need to close the program and it's gone.
Why does everything has to be compared to Apple products.. They are not the only ones making beautiful hardware, obviously.... I got a little worried when he said the keyboard and mouse weren't that great, I have to try it in the store before buying I think... GORGEOUS computer. Asus, well done!
@christermad cause apple set the fucking standard! that's why so many fucking companies make their products as close as possible to apple design. this zen ultrabook is one of many examples out there. can't wait to see what these apple wannabes gonna do when apple release a new design macbook pro with retina display, ipad3, and iphone5. this year is gonna be an epic year for apple.
This is all about the bottom like. No need to pay more for a similar quality product just to have a piece of fruit on the cover.

At 1:00 he said it's a little bit thicker..... WRONG!!! It's actually thinner. These reviews with incorrect information should be pulled.
