  • This was indeed a pleasure for me to listen to first thing in the morning. For a year of playing, you sound like you are well on your way. Lovely voice. Hope to hear more.

  • if you would, FB friend me @ Kevin D. Farmer (the one in Lansing, IL)

  • 'm working on putting together a little Crimson cover band project, ala 21st Schzoid guys, but sans actual KC members. 8-(. But the key element for my VERSION, so to speak, is getting Mellotron software. That was the kicker for my 1st hearing them, as George Lucas loved to say, a long, long time ago That icy yet intensely emotional, errie thing. As far as playing is concerned and progress, you reach plateaus and it seems like forever, but then a magical breakthru will happen... Well worth it.

  • Tha't CRISP sound. not, criso. bad typo.

  • @kevnote :-)

  • Just love to know what guitar your playing??? has a nice criso sound for an electric walking the "acoustic" turf. And youf voice IS both beautiful AND haunting. Definitely keep at it. Will enjoy hearing more posts from you. Keep up the quality work. The guitar will come with time. Your voice is already mostly there. And yes, Peter Sinfield is a one-of-a-kind lyricist and writer. He has a very cool website, if you haven't already examined it.

  • @kevnote Thank you, it is a Taylor T5. Hybrid electric/acoustic. I am only learning the guitar and what seems like a snails pace. Still, I absolutely love my this guitar. It doesn't sound good when I play it, HA HA HA, AND, seriously, it does sound better with a pick. I only finger pick and so don't do this amazing guitar justice. Not sure I ever will, but nonetheless, thank you soo much for your kind words and love of PS! Yes, I have checked our his site. You are kind to mention this :-) min

  • Come on a little faster!!! Go go!!

  • @fed71 LOL! Yes! I am a total beginner on the guitar and agree it would sound better if my fingers could go faster. Thank you for listening! min :-)

  • Really sweet voice of dream. How I'ld love to ear your cover with a more natural voice played on an acoustic guitar.

  • @Lodlac Thank you! I appreciate your kindness and your thoughts! I am thinking of covering From the Beginning, by Greg Lake and maybe if you are a KC fan you are into ELP too? :-) Anyway, I am still practicing that one. Mr. Lake is soo amazingly talented and I am a newbie playing the guitar so not sure when it will even be a recognizable tune. LOL! Thanks again, for listening! min :-)

  • Didn't think I will hear such a good cover for this song that will make me shiver (:

  • @tomerefrati Thank you for taking time to listen and comment. Means a lot! min :-)

  • Que Bonita Interpretación, me gusto ¡ KC ///

  • @TheNoQuater Thank you, my friend. You are so kind to listen and comment. Blessings, min :-)

  • you can sing me to sleep anytime.... self-taught elec bassist myself, in a 2nd band with my youngest son, a self-taught lead/rhythm guitarist who is going places

  • @absoluteauthority08 Thank you, and I truly wish you and your son all the very best on your musical journey. You sound like a very proud father, and rightfully so!!!!! Music is a universal language and I love that you have brought this love into his life as well. What a gift! Blessings to both of you! min :-)

  • Really well done! Authentic perform. Great talent.

  • @GiovanniAv Thank you so much for your kind words. Truly!!!! min :-)

  • Listening to this, I was reminded of something by Mazzy Star or Cowboy Junkies. It's good and you have great taste in music.

  • @thedove76 Wow! To be thought of with Mazzy or Margo is truly humbling. I don't know what to say......Thank you!!....min :-)

  • It takes a great sense of beauty and mystery to perform a song full of such beauty and mystery.

Well done, sister, well done. Thanks for this.

  • Thank you for listening to the song! I appreciate that you took the time! You are very kind. Blessings, min :-)

  • you have very beautiful eyes, like deep turquoise orbs drawing you in....like the songs

of the Sirens, ..who knows what lurks beneath? Who among mortal men can resist??

  • :)) thank you once again for your music:))

  • Beautiful rendition of this King Crimson classic. What a joy it is to find gems like this in unexpected places. Cheers!

  • @PrimevalRudy Thank you for your generous words!!! Truly, you are so very kind! min :-)

  • That's wonderful too. You really have some magic going on there. The peculiar guitar sound only adds to the atmosphere, and your playing is perfect - seriously, there are a lot of guitarists who have been playing 30 years and don't know how to accompany a song so sympathetically.

  • @cardwell Thank you, DC! You have been very kind and supportive! Wow. Blessings, min :-)

  • I love you.... ich liebe Dich fuer diese Ausfuehrung.... danke !!!

    gruss aus nord friesland..

  • @MrsSTARLESS1974 Thank you for taking time to listen and comment! I do appreciate that you did! Blessings, min :-)

  • Very spacey and spooky sounding. Your voice phases nicely overtop of a chimey sounding guitar. Very interesting rendition. Maybe an unexpected end result but all the same capturing some pure magic. Thanks for posting. Very beautiful.

    Michael

  • @michaelroyrene Thank you for offering your comment. I really do appreciate your kindness!! Truly. Blessings, min :-)

  • beautiful!

  • @4PAPA53 Thank you!!!! min :-)

  • soulful performance.....loved it.

  • @rubbersole79 Thank you!!! min :-)

  • very nice'

  • @dsizrk Thank you!!! min :-)

  • Your voice is wonderful, but I couldn't hear the guitar. Great treatment of this song, the best I've heard since Crimson. I need to find the guitar chords for this song.

  • @lycialive Thank you for your kind words!!!! Yes, I wasn't able to find the accurate guitar chords for this either. It is such a fantastic song, and I hope you will upload a cover of this too!!! min :-)

  • i cant hear the guitar!

  • @ALanSaidTrujillo Yes, I agree, I should have increased the volume. Thank you for listening!! min :-)

  • great performance, best wishes from Poland!

  • @07orion Thank you so very much!!! min :-)

  • My dear lady, you sound absolutely wonderful. Your rendition of that song was so beautiful. I did not see a microphone but I heard the reverb on your vocals and the guitar so I asume you added it to the recording. Simply wonderful.

  • @Doosterify Wow, THANK YOU for your kind words. Yes, you are right. I did the song live and just added reverb after the fact. Thank you for listening and your supportive comment. Truly! min :-)

  • la belleza de tu voz es solo comparable con la tuya propia... excelente! //the beauty of your voice is only comparable to your own... excellent!

  • @orlandomarquez00 Thank you so much!!! You are very kind. min :-)

  • @practicing4 por favor!! siempre a tu orden bella

  • very nostalgic like lullaby played for unslepped child by mother. Nice calming voice . think your version can be approved by Fripp and Co. Im happy to founded your moonchild and waiting for "i talk to the wind" ;).

  • @simensiak Wow, thank you so much. I am just learning the guitar but would LOVE to be able to play I Talk To The Wind. Might take me the rest of my life though....LOL! I love King Crimson. Thank you again!!! min :-)

  • you are my hero of the day. can't stop watching this. i wanna do a shortfilm with a person singing this...but i'd rather have you sing it...i wish i could hear it accapella without the guitar....

    lots of musical love,

    alec

  • @alleeccmetal LOL! Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate that you have listened to it and more than once! Wow!!Thank you! Blessings, my friend. min :-)

  • Have you thought of recording the guitar first then doing the vocals later rather than fumbling both?

In other youtube renditions of Moonchild, the vocalists are way too analy retentive and operatic with forced vibrato - Your voice is a moonchild, you get the emotion right, well done!

  • @GrumpSkull Thank you very much for your thoughts. I totally appreciate your comment and you have given me much to think about! I am on a huge learning curve with learning both the guitar and garageband, so hopefully I can improve. Thank you, again. I respect your honesty! min :-)

  • Beautiful! Such talent and warmth combined! Thank you for posting.

  • @ZorAndZam Thank you very much for your kind words. I appreciate that you have taken time to listen and comment. That truly means alot. Blessings, min :-).

  • hypnotically beautiful

  • @zappadead13 Thank you, again! I am honored. Blessings, min:-)

  • your voice is phenomenal, like it brought tears to my eyes, and i am a 21 year old dude. i'm at the prime of my testosterone production, im not supposed to be producing tears. lol

    very very magical performance.

  • @Beagios LOL!! You are very creative. Thank you for your kind words, and I believe a true artist can have tears no matter the age. Obviously, you have a sensitive, artists heart. Blessings, min :-)

  • hypnotic

  • @zappadead13 Thank you very much. I am grateful you came by to listen and took time to comment! Means alot. min :-)

  • Re-e-eal Nice !

I'm also a huge KC & ELP fan and I must say this was Very Beautiful. I was quite a lucky man having seen Greg and Keith back in May in a very small venue. (300-400) A great experience, Keith even brought along the original "moog", very cool. I'm really looking forward to checkin' out more of your stuff. You are a very talented lady. Peace. :-))

  • @profwaldo WOW, Wally!! How cool is THAT??? I am a massive Greg Lake fan. Big huge sigh,....I can only imagine how amazing that concert would have been, and I must add that I am shocked to learn how small the venue was. One of my all time fav's is The Sage. I digress. Thank you, for your kind words Wally! You are a wonderful soul! Blessings, min :-)

  • @practicing4 Funny, most everyone at the concert was old, well 'cept for me of course. ha-hah ;-) There's an Indian casino 30 miles from me that gets these great acts and I'm sure they eat most of the costs getting the artists booked.(it draws new suckers to the casino) Great place tho', nobody sits more than 50 feet away. They just had Leo Kottke and John Fahey together !!! I couldn't go, twas torture. Greg Lake, beautiful singer n' guitar artist. One of my favs, C'est La Vie. Best to you. :-))

  • Hi Min,,,As always, your vocals are just flawless. this is such a beautiful performance on great song. really loved my listen and watch,,,,,Have a great weekend,,Hugs,Chris

  • @Ocean7711 Thank you, Chris for your generous support in listening and commenting. You are very kind, my friend! I hope you and yours have a beautiful weekend too. Blessings, min :-)

  • Nice performance (and pretty lady as well)

  • @jaegerhund Thank you. I am just learning the guitar, but LOVE so many King Crimson songs and ELP too. Greg Lake is one of my very favourite artists. Anyway, thank you again for listening and taking time to comment. I appreciate that you did! Blessings, min :-)

  • @practicing4 Well, at times I've been an ELP and King Crimson fan(atic). This song brings back memories and feelings of nostalgia that verge on the painful , but in a good way. :) You do it very well so keep up the guitar practicing . I've played guitar for over 20 years ,but I can still remember those early days and having to get over some serious "humps" ----- good things come to the diligent (and patient). Take it easy.

  • amazing min, i'm blown away as always. is your guitar a taylor?

  • @jimmymac30 Yes. It is a Taylor T5C2. I absolutely, completely, 1000% love it. My husband surprised me with it. We had been in numerous guitar stores looking at an electric for my son. Since we were there I'd sample the acoustics. When I strummed the first chord of this guitar it was love at first sound!! My husband went back afterwards and bought it for me for Christmas last year. I really cried. I have never done that over a material thing, ever. But you know what I am talking about! min:-)

  • this is so gona go to my wall in facebook :P

  • @denis195196 Thank you so much for your kindness! min :-)

  • @terigower Not sure what ``smile`` you mean...but if you head over to Sunambra you WILL find not only his, but your own. His latest is SO hilarious! Do you mean the song I took down...I WILL by the Beatles...If so, I am working at reposting that one. It was short and had some editing problems! LOL! Not too sure if that is what you mean, but nevertheless I love you Mary, beyond the songs, the words, the music,...I love you! min :-) xx

  • Min You really have such a beautiful voice full of passion. You always deliver such a touching vocal and I think you did what you intended here. Gave a truly artistic version, while not overdoing it. Your singing is pure poetry!!! FAVORED BTW love the guitar chords used

    Frank

  • @56stargazer Frank, your words truly mean so much to me. Thank you!!! I am grateful for your friendship here in YT land, and don't know how, but I do feel a musical kindredness with you. In the pure spirit of friendship, thank you for your kindness! Blessings. min :-)

    Frank

  • WOW incredible job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have gotten so much better with your vocals.

  • @ToniMattTony Hey, Tony!! Thank you, dear friend. I am still trying to find my true voice, and thank you for your huge encouragement and support. You rock!! Blessings, min :-)

  • WOW, Min!!! That song is great for your voice. It´s so amazing beautiful when you sing soft with your strong voice. I guess you can sing many styles and may be... the same as with my voice...you should spend time to try to find what´s best. I LOVE this song - it`s perfect! hugs Daiandrah

  • @sunlightforeveryone Thank you, my beautiful friend! You hit the nail on the head, for me, when you said that you are spending time trying to find your true-est voice. I also need to let go of feeling so vulnerable. If there is a community of support and encouragement, as well as deep friendships, this is THAT community. I love you, D! Thank you for being so real, beautiful and my dear friend. Blessings, min xxx

  • If this had been a cover from a known star it would be a hit right away its that good and Min you should be a star this is an awesome cover, for me and your other fans you are a star

    wullie

  • @whynotgivitago Ahh, thank you, Wullie. You always offer the most supportive words. I appreciate you, my friend, and am so grateful for your friendship here! Love to you! I hope you and your family are doing amazingly well! Blessings, min :-)x

  • Beautiful min! You never disappoint and always amaze me ...and you are so humble too! I am not familar with this song but your rendition is haunting. Keep up the great work. Cheers Vanessa

  • @nessyvt Thank you, Vanessa. You are always so encouraging and generous with your comments. Thank you. YOU are beautiful! Blessings, min :-) x

  • World class singer with loads of charisma

  • @Sunambra LOL! Did you watch this video? LOL!! Thank you, M! You are such remarkable person. I hope you received the vid I sent you. I loved your rendition of the song!! It is just so beautiful the way you deliver it! Hope you have been well and have had a wonderful summer, so far!!! Blessings, my friend! min:-)

  • I really like this one Min ~ Your voice is perfect for this ~ I like the sound of your Guitar ~ I can imagine this being in a film ~ Nice to see you posting again ~ Well done, Min ~ Take care, my friend ~ Geoff

  • @williheckaslike Thank you, Geoff!! So cool that you thought this song could be in a film. I had the same thought! The different beats in this song are so interesting. The original has a smooth flow, but the drummer added a lot of staccato beats on top of the song. Such a neat feel to it. I digress! Thank you, my very dear friend for your kind comment and for listening. You're the best! Blessings to you and B! Hope your weekend is also amazing! min:-)

  • Stunning!

    Thumbs up and faved.

    BoB

  • @Mendips251 Thank you, BoB!! You are so very kind! I hope life has been treating you well, my friend. Have a wonderful weekend, too! Blessings, min :-)

  • Gentle and haunting. Airy and sublimely poetic. Also, at least to me, oddly reminiscent of Peggy Lee singing A Taste of Honey. ;-)

  • @Radioviewer Thank you, RV!! LOL on the electric guitar! I am still learning how to maintain each note strength/volume. LOL! That is tricky! I am able to cheat a bit with the acoustic, but the electric just screams out those mistakes. I have had several good laughs while preparing the post! You are too generous with your kind words, my friend. Best of all, thank you for your friendship here in yt land! You are the best! Love to you, min :-) x

  • beautiful and haunting at the same time. only min can pull that off! great job and of course thanks for sharing.

  • @songmansinatra120 Thank you, Mike. You are always so thoughtful in your comments. I am very grateful! Thank you! min :-)

  • Gorgeous min. You pulled back the reigns so fine with lovely control on this wild horse. Be proud you can play an instrument to accompany the ride. Don't worry about what the robots with guitars might think. Passion is priceless & never on paper. You rock wicked =)

  • @lovelyTOI Toi, you say the loveliest things! Thank you. This one has always felt magical to me. Finding passion while being fragile is so hard. This song sounds so simple, (well, the original carries that effortlessness to it), but I found it VERY hard. You seem to know and understand music with great depth, all the way down to the finest elements within the essence of each note. I haven't known you long, but can somehow feel your knowing? I have much to learn from you. Thank you, Toi! min:-)

  • A wonderful rendition. Hypnotic in fact, I was spellbound

  • @bigeeezy Thank you, James. Love to you!! min :-) x

  • Be Good!! (Bravissima!)...I have listened with pleasure! Beautiful song...Thanks for the notes..appreciated. d.

  • @dnadsy52 Thank you, D!!! You are a lovely soul and I appreciate so much that you find time to listen! Thank you, my friend. Blessings, min:-) x

  • MIN!!! This is wonderful sis! Very cool and you present the piece perfectly. Wonderful.

    Peace-n-Love always, JP ;-)

  • @LOVE2Flute LOVE to you BRO! Thank you for your beautiful heart and continual expression of unconditional love. You are Peace and Love in human form! You are human, right? LOL!! Love you dearly, JP! Your lil' sis, min:-)

  • Very lovely cover Min - I remember the original from way back , nice to read the background history to the song and the beautiful lyrics.

You look well after your break great to have you back

    Sue xx

  • @BebingtonGirl Yes, it is an old tune. Someone called it "Hippie music, like psychedelic folk music of the sixties." LOL!! I agree, and also feel that it has a timeless, mystical feel to it. Dunno! :-)

Thank you, my dear friend for all your kind words, and most of all your friendship! Love you, min :-)xx

  • Wow ur back drifting in the echoes of the hours ....with the ghosts of dawn..steer me their way...lovely Min..u done us proud u gave urself in simplicity of sound...

glad u learnt to do the video u look so refreshed and well..love this new one...mary

  • @terigower I love that line too! "Drifting in the echoes of the hours." That makes me think about life outside the material realm. Our souls dwell here? Just my interpretation, but I would love to hear others?!! Peter Sinfield is a genius and I love his poetry as it is sung by Greg Lake. Greg's early work is also genius, in my humble opinion. I love him now as well! :-). Love you, Mary. Thank you, for YOU, another genius poet and voice! min:-)xxxx

  • hi, min.

    much better vox sound.

    OK:

some problems: this is live. yes?

well, the strength in GB, etc is not live mixing, per se.

it's the ability to over-dub parts.

that is: record one element, then listen back to it whilst recording another in sync.

if you want a pro sound, just record your vox, etc, then play it all back and mime it on the vid.

    j.

  • @djrbfm JR! I just love you! Thank you for your honesty, continued support and helpful advice! You are wonderful. Yes, garageband is NOT for the live performer. At this point, I am still too crappy of a guitar player to actually have a track! LOL! But, in time I will? I also tried the playback method and you could totally tell I was faking it. LOL! The other thing I learned, is that it is harder to pause within a feeling when it is recorded verses live? I'm learning with ur help! :-) min:-) x

  • This is simply beautiful Min. I've never heard this song before but you sing and play wonderfully. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs...Jan and Susan ♥

  • @weeyin1155 Thank you, Joannie!! I hope you and Susan have a beautiful weekend too. You are such a huge hearted soul. I am so grateful we have crossed paths here in yt land! Mary often shares how much she loves you!! Isn't yt incredible? Most have never met in person, yet deep friendships are formed nonetheless. The community here is outstanding in this regard. I feel grateful to be within this circle, with people like you. Love to you!! min :-) x

  • Wonderful, like always. This is a new song for me, sounds nice. I would also like to learn Garageband, you could make a teaching video about how to use it? Yes? Take care, my friend.

  • @kajwilhelm Thank you, Kaj! I have had a hard time learning garageband because I do "live" posts. Its true purpose is for recording tracks etc. Anyway, I finally figured out how to do this. YIPPEE. LOL! I would be very happy to share this with you if you want? Do you use garageband? Your vids look and sound great so I think it should be me asking you, how to's? :-) Thank you, Kaj! Blessings, min :-)
