Make a 16x16 pix jpg, then upload it to your server in the root directory. Rename it to favicon.ico - vola! ;) maybe you need to clear your history in firefox if you cant see it.

did exactly like you and have PS cs3, but got an error message on the converter site.

getting frustrated with this right now. some site says it has too be in 16 color mode, but i guess that would be something the converter does for you.... any idea what i might have done wrong?

also... when using that tag, the image url should start with ./

[dot forward slash] which browser recognize as don't go back, and retrieve where the page's location (without the pages name)... ex: "./images/omg.ico"

Firefox reads a certain tag in websites, so Firefox's Tabs can read it, It can read PNG, APNG, ICO, BMP, JPG, and TIFF.

For example, the tag Firefox is currently reading for this page's favicon is:
