  • It would have been better if it were a little bit faster. Several of the guys would have done it equally well.

  • @roguejulie

I think it was just perfect the way they did it.

  • Denny does a great job! love his voice too.

love it when they're all miked....

  • Sorry, Johnny would have done this better but he couldn't sing all the songs on the show, well he could but then it would have been the Johnny Contardo Show. I could have lived with that.

  • @Tonithenightowl so could Donny & Lennie and you should hear Scott Powell's version from their album Rock & Roll Is Here to Stay; he does a FANTASTIC job singing this song! Sha Na Na was not just about Johnny or Bowzer, SNN are 10 guys (originally 12) in a great band who could ALL sing!

  • @gopherscout I agree with you about Powell, fantastic voice especially for Elvis songs, they all had great voices and did songs that complimented their vocal range. When it came to center stage they allowed the ones that could pull it off and that was mostly Johnny, Bowser and Scott Powell. There is a difference between singing backup and being center stage. That's pretty much all I meant.

  • @Tonithenightowl yes, Scott Powell did great with Elvis songs & to tell you the truth, I love his version of Silhouettes from "Rock & Roll Is Here to STay" better. You should Donny sing "Donna", " Venus", "Young Love", "Puppy Love', "Venus In Blue Jeans", "Let the Good times Roll", "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" - which he wrote - & the others he sang lead on & he can pull off being on center stage. Donny is a great singer & a great backup singer too!.

  • @gopherscout I have listened to all the songs by SNN on Youtube, there wasn't a better cover band in history IMO. Agreed, Donny did those songs very well. He was also good with the skits. They were all very talented men, each in their own right.

  • @Tonithenightowl I agree, they are the best & they are all very talented too. I have read quite a few article, etc. about SNN & some of the writers of those articles seem to think that Johnny & Bowzer were the only guys that mattered when that is not true. I do feel that Donny & the others never got the credit they deserved as it seemed it was always heaped on Johnny & Bowzer! SNN from the TV show days had 10 very talented guys in the band, not just 2.

  • @gopherscout : DEFINATELY agreed. Each person is so talented. I only wish I had a eensy weensy bit of their incredible talent. I feel some were terribly underrated. I loved all the skits. I loved how bubbly Chico seemed to be, LOVED Danny's voice (reminded me somewhat of Johnny Cash) Denny and his crooning would melt me, I just love Lennie in Be my guest, I have several favorites of Donny singing. Jocko was FAB in his singing too,Scott I have many fav's too, and Santini is uber smooth too ☺

  • @Foofsmom each of the guys bring their talent together & have formed a fantastic band & their charm comee through in the skits. Some of my fave video clips are from Musikladen as I remember that line up, it's live & they all shine in those clips. They're extremely talented singers & musicians (those that played instruments).

  • Scott Powell sang this on their very first album---"Rock and Roll is Here to Stay".

  • yep I got that one too LOL

  • They do a FANTASTIC job on this song!

  • Love this version...great piano by Screamin!!!
