Didn't Asura (or whatever is name) die because Maka wasn't afraid of him and he could eat off it? I don't know If I make much sense but, I think Asura died because, without fear he is weak.... >_> But the ending was still somewhat strange.

@MangaLUVER11 I think that Asuras soul was untouchable because he controlled his fears perfectly by learning its weaknesses(you can see in the battle that when ever maka made something different, the first was nervous, then analysed what happened and turned back to normal)..but with makas recless action of attacking him head on, with no fear, Asura couldnt comprehend that insanity and his soul fell apart
