I don't see why this browser doesn't get more publicity. It's just as fast as Chrome and it has TONS of features that other browsers don't have. Not to mention how smooth and sleek it is in comparison. I see a really bright future for Safari and it's completely off the radar doing it's own thing while Firefox and Chrome battle it out.

I have Windows & Mac but only use Firefox on both. Safari is good & fast & if I have to use only Safari I would be OK with that. But when it comes to efficiency, flexibility & customisation no one beats Firefox.

2 days ago I installed Safari 5.1 & it worked fine but, initially it would stop working. today morning, I wanted to play a game online. the game was loading, Safari stopped working, & my PC crashed. all my data was safe & got backed up. the same game & shockwave plugin works fine on IE 9 & Chrome 12.0. does anyone know why this happened??

I prefer IE9. The hardware acceleration makes it lightening fast and sites appear in less than a second. I love the clean interface and security features it has. Microsoft nailed it this time. I just don't prefer Safari, it's not even seamless with Windows and I don't like having extra software (Apple Software Update) if all I would like to do is use a browser. I wish there would be a Linux version as well. :)

I wouldnt use anything from apple i bought a ipod touch 2 years ago and after about 10 months it got slower and slower after you sync the music with itunes it would take 30 seconds just to open the music on it and everything else got slow i installed the new ios but it still got slow they slow you on purpose so you will buy a new ipod touch i bet they do the same thing with there mac's

It starts out kinda quick, but as you use it over the course of a few days it just gets slower...and slower....AND SLOWER!! Deleting the history and temp. files doesn't help either. That is what I dislike about Safari.

I got the installer for 5.1 but I did not upgrade to 5.1 yet still running 4.0.5 on my Vista Computer. But on my laptop (Win XP) I upgraded from 5.0.5 to 5.1 and It's so fast dose really good on FishIE Tank I love it but I still like chrome better

@niels2029 After about 4-6 hours, I think Chrome slows down my computer a lot... I have an HD 6970, i7 2600k, 4gb RAM running at 2000, two 1TB seagate hard drives in raid 0, and a GTX 470 for PhysX. I think I need to upgrade my memory to 16GB, that would really help for multitasking more...

I don't see what you like about chrome. It doesn't have many features, it's ugly, uses a lot of ram and google is tracking every site you visit, even what you type in the address bar, and it does not look faster that Opera, Firefox or even safari. In tests it may be faster but it doesn't feel so. If you want a feature rich and fast browser use Opera or Firefox. And no, i'm not a troll.

Safari is only worth using on a Mac, for Windows users it doesn't really offer anything. If you want pure speed, use Chrome, if you want customisation, use Firefox, if you want the best out of the box feature set, use Opera.
