People would back then, would see a crew break dancing and all that...and think"hip hop" and since rap was the most profitable aspect of hip hop culture, it took off. Hip hop could NEVER fall UNDER "rap". Hip hop created rap.
Once... way back in the 80's, one of the radio stations played a mix of this along with The Real Roxanne rap. It was pretty good. Is it somewhere on youtube?
