  • Being one of Stevie's biggest fans from day one, and knowing that all the "greats" comment on how difficult it is to emulate SRV, you kicked ass on that, good sir!!! My dream is to learn to play guitar and learn to play "Lenny"...I dream big!!! My hat is off to you! SRV's legacy lives on!

  • Hi! Which pick up are you using? Thx!

  • insanity

  • perfection dude....wow

  • wow really clean cover !! The only difference is SRV created this with such passion and it's emulated by others (no offense) but nothing like listening to SRV pour out his heart when playing this live.

  • @mixwell1983 i feel the same, hey would you check out my rendtition of lenny? thanks man

  • Hey man, would you mind sharing your rig? Do you use any compression? What kind of tubes, and speaker? What kind of OD? Thanks, great job.

  • Fantastic performance. Close your eyes and you could believe is was Stevie playing.

  • Great job!!!! I really enjoyed that!

  • Excellent video! Very smooth, loved it! Great camera angles and editing.

  • for me, it was better than SRV's version. I thought it was milky smooth. If i were to buy the single of this song, i would buy this version over Stevies, thats how much i loved it, dude

  • dude, that's beautiful. I have no idea why would anybody say it sounds robotic. I guess they're just Jealous. Great job

  • nice, what gauge strings are you using?

  • That really makes me proud to see a man playing the blues with a Mesa Boogie sitting in the background.

  • really very very good

  • really very very good

  • nice vid, nice phrasing, not robotic but you could 'attack' it more (dig in) if you know what I mean... i know its the studio cover but Im talking the el mocambo one!

  • cleeeeaaan! :D

  • mean brother

  • good work.

  • very good,thx

  • EXELENT MAN !!!!!

  • That is by far one of the BEST VERSION'S OF LENNY that I heard in My life!! That was the best 5:13 minutes of my life thank you for recreating such a great moment music history... I AM VERY THANKFUL THAT I GOT TO WITNESS THIS KEEP UP THE AWESOME JOB...... Thank you

  • Nice work reproducing this beautiful song. It's perfectly note for note (at least as my memory serves me), and seeing you play it in such a clear video helped me pick up some of the parts I was struggling with by ear. Thanks!

  • ROBOTIC MY ASS!!! That was very impressive, I actually listened to the whole thing. I enjoyed every bit of it! Your very talented, I can tell how hard it was on your hands. lol..Makes me appriciate how SRV made it look so flippn easy! Good job!

  • @PULLEY08 AGREED...people alway look to bring others down....jealous fucks...AWESOME job...Kick ass sound!

  • I have a Gibson S1 without a whammy. So I first got to buy another guitar before I can play this song properly. Anyone got some ideas for an affordable guitar WITH whammy?

  • @Mulismijnachternaam The fender i had works perfectly, my ernie ball guitars do not bend "up" so they don't work...but the fender seems much more subtle than say a floyd rose that i've used in the past for metal stuff.

  • @wildmilne or maybe an epiphone riviera? saw one in a guitar shop with a bigsby for around $350, played like a dream..

  • absolutely faultless, amazing jon dude :)

  • sounds good

  • Awesome cover!!!!!

I'm learning this song right now :)

  • kyllä on opeteltu sit joka ote näköjään ei paljon ole improvisaatio mukana.mut osaahan hän soittaa???COPYtm

  • Brilliant cover dude, tone was excellent and practicaly note for note!! love the guitar too... is that a midnight wine strat?

  • Very nice, Man I dont care what some of these people say you have exceptional talent and did a good job on this cover. Keep it up

  • good feeling !!!

  • *SPEECHLESS* there isn't a smiley in the world that can express my reaction

  • good cover i dont think it sounds robotic at all great job

  • Hi Chris! Excellent guitar playing! You really caught the feel and mood of the original! I loved it!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • Awesome job. I can't believe someone's suggesting this song is easy to play, what ? To play with the feel and timing of this blues legend is not easy; plus you need to nail the vibrato, harmonics, slides and flutter notes, yeah it's a piece of cake. That person must be very talented if this is easy. Not many other examples on youtube get anywhere near it, but you did sir. I've been learning this for 10 years and I'm still not quite there. Small wonder guitarist voted this best fender moment.

  • ignore some of these people man. i am a huuuuge SRV guy myself and you did an impeccable job..

  • THAT WAS AWESOME MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How long did it take you learn that song? i love that song and want to learn how to play it myself any advice?

  • Yes. Too much reverb; however, well played. BTW, Stevie was kind of robotic as well when he played Lenny on his album. Nothing personal about SRV just his style from time to time was that way and i love it.

  • oh man that distortion at 3:40 was so good,

with that exception and the reverb, this could almost have been the original

  • good cover!

How did you record the video? i mean all the different camera positions, i cant imagine you placed like 10 camera's around you? Looks really cool!

    Thanks in advance!

  • @firesmoother Thanks. I moved the camera and replayed it, just kept the audio from the best take. I was rehearsing for my teacher at the times student recital. I was also trying to learn Adobe Premiere then...so i thought it would be a fun experiment.

  • @wildmilne I recently uploaded my cover of Lenny, played on an acoustic guitar. I'd love it if you would take the time to check it out and let me know what you think about it!

  • Comment removed

  • @wildmilne i think you should be teaching your teacher, this is absolutley spot on and amazing i can only hope to play that song some day. that must have took some serious time to get down, in other words god damn son!

  • Comment removed

  • hi man great cover!!! please can you tell me your tube screamer settings? Are you using the TS-808 or the TS9 in the final lead part? thanks!

    good job!!

  • @lorjames Yeah, but this was a long time ago...no idea what the settings were...sorry

  • What is the guitar?

  • @KaloMessi10 Fender Custom Shop...stock noiseless pickups.

  • @wildmilne

    I love noiseless pickups.

I've got a Deluxe American. Came with noiseless pickups.

And the bridge pickup sounds like a humbucker if I want it to.

    I love Fenders.

    Best guitars ever made. Period.

  • Comment removed

  • @wildmilne yeah i only like the neck pickup, i replaced the bridhe and middle.

i suggest u put a little fuzz on this, too clean

  • @BrittonDeJong hey man check out my version of lenny and please let me know what you think. thanks

  • It sounds very robotic, try to play with a bit of feel

  • @grzana2429 Robots are cool, like Ninjas

  • @wildmilne Right up until they try to harvest your body and turn you into a battery. Darn robots.

  • @blakmagik4

lol, that was a great movie, but that idea didn't even make sense...we use tons of energy just keeping warm (i.e., alive), so we would be an amazingly inefficient choice as a battery. darn second law of thermodynamics.

  • @dfunkt now come on! next you'll say motorcycles can't make 90 degree turns at 100 mph and we know they can cause it was in Tron. lol.

maybe they had a really large pink goo heater so we stay warm.

  • @blakmagik4

lol, you were the one reasoning that robots attempting to harvest us as batteries was a potential reason for not liking robots... again, the pink goo heaters would need to run on energy, so why would machines use vast energy to keep their inefficient energy sources warm?

  • @dfunkt maybe they have a really really really tall pole that jets way above the clouds with a solar cell on top of it and use that to heat the goo. Totally plausible. or they just covered us in blankets. That or they warmed the pink goo with a generator in the basement powered by post-apocalyptic mice running on a spinning wheel.

  • @blakmagik4

lol, truly, this is occam's razon at work here! ;)

  • @blakmagik4

    erm...i meant "occam's RAZOR"...doh!

  • @dfunkt Oh i understood. I'm still going with post apocalyptic hampster wheel.

  • @blakmagik4

well, i suppose that without contrary evidence we cannot reject the idea out-of-hand...but still i am unconvinced.

  • @dfunkt hey check out my lenny version please!

  • @grzana2429 lol u just wish u could play like that.

  • @zeroaviation

its not a hard song -.-

  • @grzana2429 Are you fucking kidding me? that was the best cover i've ever hear, and the camera angels and all were sweet bro, brilliant sound and lovely guitar x

  • @grzana2429 Robotic?! Less penis sucking (and jealous retorts) and more shutting up. His playing is exceptional!

  • @grzana2429

Robot my ass, to play this song you have to have feeling. Which he's got

  • awesome! well done!

  • Good job! It's a great piece to practice.

  • Wow... very very well done. Interesting to me to see you playing the exact same notes with different fingering. I think SRV had some really strong hands. Very well done, I've never seen it done better BRAVO!

  • good cover.

  • This sounds perfect.

There may be a tad too much reverb, but its not even that bad.

  • Wow, great rendition. You really nailed it...I like your first finger vibrato...well done.

  • nevermind the reverb, this sounds awesomely great!!

  • Simply great kid! Really perfect, like SRV, believe it :*))

  • the reverbs fine at 82 mill of decay gives a cool vibe.

  • i think the tone had a bit too much crunch too it. it was still freakin great none the less

  • Reverb? String gauge? Who cares - this is seriously sweet playing mate - loved it!

  • forget the reverb!!! Good job on Stevie's best work

  • Too much reverb.

  • Really? I'm still getting these comments :)

  • Seriously, nice job man. You fucking NAILED it. what's your setup and the equipment you use?

  • Brilliant job :) Only thing I would change immediately is bring down the volume on the bass track, seems quite loud. You'd better be getting yourself a blues band together mate! *Feel* this song on stage, I'm sure people would love it :D Best of luck!

  • Impressed and Inspired.....

  • Freaking great!

  • this was great, I love this song..
