I'm a fucking idiot.I was in a rush yesterday and without thinking I checked the Armageddon results assuming there would be no surprises.I'll leave it up to anyone reading this to guess what my reaction was but the thing is I can't give an informed opinion on whether they should have given Jeff the title just yet cause I still haven't seen the match!The thing is I've made this same kind of mistake a million times in regards to wrestling.I guess I still haven't learned from my mistakes.
I think that wwe wanted to prove a point that there is no such thing as a throw away ppv because they saw how final resolution did in its buyrate and just had to deliver on this one. TNA cannot afford to do throw away ppv's considering the fact that the beginning the year the wwe slams their ppvs
I love that Jeff finally won, plus I think it's abit strange but I am also happy that Miz and Morrison are the tag champs.
Hopefully Jeff doesn't lose the whole underdog type image now though, that was I think what made him so lovable. Though he has really stepped his game up lately.

im goin to have to disagree. jeff hasnt stepped up for shit. he doesnt have that energy anymore. i think hes burnout. he was at his peak in 03. hes not the same anymore. i used to love him now hes just sloppy
i totally disagree he couldn't be trusted at all he can hopefully get his act together remember before mania he got his title off of him and was suspended imagine if he had the wwe title and has it taken away from him like that and suspended a crisis.

I'm surprised they made Jeff Hardy the champion, It's about time after 8 monthes of Triple as champ and going back to the same old same old with Edge as champ. How long do you think Hardy will stay champ? Will he last until Wrestle mania and who will he face? It doesn't matter because he is champ now.
I was there TruthSlayer and man I loved the PPV I would give it 8.5/10 maybe because I was there I over hyped. But Pop of the night Hardy, and then Batista. Most heat Edge, others had mixed reactions Y2J, Cena, Orton. CM Punk and Rey was soo good, good amount of near falls and Rey got his nose broke on that Go To Sleep.
If a heel beats a face for the title at one PPV then drops it to a different face a at the next PPV they are a transitional champion. There's no argument to be had. Edge has enough heat however for it not to really hurt him in the long run. Edge winning the belt in the way he did was essential to re-establish the Edge/Vickie Guerrero storyline, but the long term plan it seems was always for him to drop the title to Hardy at some point, hence the short reign.
So pretty much, about the Jeff Hardy situation, this was basically the same ol' whining about people wanting to be surprised. And when they do, they whine.
Internet wrestling fans don't know what the frickin' hell they want. Plain and simple.
I hear you. Had Hardy lost, they would have bitched about how he was screwed again. Hardy won here and now they say WWE should have saved it for the Rumble or WM 25. it wasn't random, jeff has been going for the title for more than 3 months; unexpected yeah because WWE usually never does this but random no. Usually WWE waits till wrestlemania and that was what everybody expected so jeff could have his moment, but he still can, think of what they did with Eddie he won the title before but still main evented and won Oh and yes Edge was champ for 3 weeks but he has had already long periods with the title so he's already so he's not being a transtitional champ
im glad that hardy finally won the title but i still think best time for him to win it was at Royal Rumble or No Mercy or even Survivor Series but they brought edge back because smackdown will get better
This was a great PPV, I enjoyed all the matches (even the Divas match). It really deserved a 8.0.
I am pleased Hardy won the belt, but I really don't know what they are going to do for the Smackdown main event of Wrestlemania now. I'm thinking they are gonna do a Fatal four way - Edge, Koslov, Triple H, Hardy - with possibly Koslov winning.
......You could kind of feel like he was gonna win but you didn't think so at the same time. When he hit that swanton and covered Edge I stood up and cheered.

It's weird watching that match, because it's like watching your favourite team in a game 6 on the verge of winning a championship, like wow this could be the night.

Yea I dont think the hbk segment was great, but he always makes the best of of whatever he does, like when he said the stuff bout not being another wrestling tragedy was pretty strong. i really enjoyed the endings to both maing events and also punk vs rey, he got him up so high for the gts. I was pretty suprised bout hardy but when cena retained that kinda made ya think a little the title was changing hands in the last match, i did jump up for Jeff tho!
Ecstatic about the main event result - wish it was at a bigger ppv but it only added to the shock value! I have no problem I marked like a small child when the 3 was counted...thank you WWE for giving us what we wanted!!!!!!!
Armageddon has never been my favorite PPV, but this one was pretty sweet. I think Miz and Morrison won the Tag Titles because of Punk going for the IC Title.
I like Hardy winning the title, but I would have booked it differently. I would have had Edge win, via dirty tactics. Then have Edge defend against Triple H at the Rumble and win again via dirty moves. But then have Hardy win the Rumble, and build up to WM 25 with Edge vs. Jeff Hardy for the WWE Title. But that's just me.
the only reason edge drop the title to hardy was because triple h wouldnt thats my opinion,so edge return at SS to capture the wwe title and put jeff over 3weeks later.
Thank God Jeff Hardy won the WWE Champion!! It was an awesome surprise by the WWE, now hopefully Jericho will win the World Heavy Weight Champion soon.

My only problem with Hardy is that in the 3 Strikes your out policy, he's already got two strikes. Does the WWE really want to risk having to fire their champion?

yes RVD got caught with sabu on the road for dope he dropped the belt like the next week RVD has commented that Vince was extremely disapointed with him and RVD also says that he thinks thats one reason vince changed the ECW style more to what it is now as opposed to a hybrid that we were seeing in the begning because he didnt have the ecw star power like he had with wcw
RVD was never fired. He left the company when his contract was up, and the WWE didn't screw him. They gave him the belt and then he got arrested like a week later with pot and painkillers. RVD screwed himself
but then they gave him the belt and he blew it. They finally gave him the oppurtunity and we found out the hard way why it probably took so long for him to get that oppurtunity in the first place.
That spot monkey didn't deserve the title... nor will he even know what to do with it. All he knows is spots and he has ZERO mic skills. I'd rather have another Triple H reign of terror than have a meaningless champion. Besides... Edge didn't deserve to lose his title so early.
In my opinion the crowd was dead the entire night and in the end it ended up sort of killing the Hardy title win for me. I can understand during the opener and even the majority of the CM/Rey match (it started off slower then their styles would have thought)
But going deeper into the card it started to make the show feel bad, it might just be because they didn't mic the crowd but it sounded like after the Cena match there were next to no cheers and the same thing after the Hardy win.
the HBK/JBL segment was probably only done so they could have a use for them on the ppv. though guys like Taker, Big Show and Kane still were left off this ppv so leaving HBK and JBL off wouldn't have been so bad.
anything can happen at a house show alot of people missed a classic match with rock defending his title in a triple threat against hhh and brock lesnar and rock won great match
Good review really good PPV I was convinced to go halves on it last minute with a buddy of mine and I don't regret it. WWE is consistently putting on better PPVs than TNA even Survivor Series was better than Final Resolution.
Still waiting for the years biggest card in UFC 92 with the big Affliction show in January and the Rumble followed by St. Pierre vs Penn 2 in February....I'm gonna be broke by Spring but I guess that's what friends are for, eh?
2 things i just wonder: 1# will mr. kennedy be "pushed" 2 be World Heavyweight Champ via the Royal Rumble match (Jeff Hardy is getting his first run as WWE champ, I just hope they don't try a Mr. Kennedy vs Jeff Hardy @ WrestleMania angle, so I hope they do instead a John Cena vs Mr. Kennedy, since most males above 18 Don't like Cena, PERIOD !) 2# will WWE use Jeff Hardy as champ properly (U know what am talking about)
Thank you Truthslayer for explaining about the Jeff Hardy situation. The surprise of a title change on a throwaway PPV is one of those essential things the company can do to make you care. It's better than drawing it out as long as you could until a title win doesn't even matter. *cough* Samoa Joe *cough* This is a good move by WWE. The company made me care. CM Punk's MITB cash in was an example of a must watch surprise and so was Jeff's title win.
Even though I'm not a big Jeff Hardy fan, it's pretty cool to see him win the championship. Hopfully this will also motivate him to become more responsible with his job and not be a loose cannon.
I'm a bit upset that Edge was basically used as a tool for Jeff Hardy winning (cause we ALL know a certain someone wouldn't do it), but hey, if this can get him to be more responsible then by all means go for it.
what i am hoping is that hardy is still champion by the time wrestlemania comes aruodn, and then have a match against edge, who i am predicting to win the royal rumble. I bet Kozlov or HHH or both will go against hardy at the rumle, tahts my prediction.
I think Jeff winning at Roay Rumble and the title at WM would've made some sense as well. But hey, most of us got our Christmas present early, so I didn't hear that much complaints.........at least right now.

I was there TruthSlayer and man I loved the PPV I would give it 8.5/10 maybe because I was there I over hyped. But Pop of the night Hardy, and then Batista. Most heat Edge, others had mixed reactions Y2J, Cena, Orton. CM Punk and Rey was soo good, good amount of near falls and Rey got his nose broke on that Go To Sleep.

If a heel beats a face for the title at one PPV then drops it to a different face a at the next PPV they are a transitional champion. There's no argument to be had. Edge has enough heat however for it not to really hurt him in the long run. Edge winning the belt in the way he did was essential to re-establish the Edge/Vickie Guerrero storyline, but the long term plan it seems was always for him to drop the title to Hardy at some point, hence the short reign.

I hear you. Had Hardy lost, they would have bitched about how he was screwed again. Hardy won here and now they say WWE should have saved it for the Rumble or WM 25. it wasn't random, jeff has been going for the title for more than 3 months; unexpected yeah because WWE usually never does this but random no. Usually WWE waits till wrestlemania and that was what everybody expected so jeff could have his moment, but he still can, think of what they did with Eddie he won the title before but still main evented and won Oh and yes Edge was champ for 3 weeks but he has had already long periods with the title so he's already so he's not being a transtitional champ

im glad that hardy finally won the title but i still think best time for him to win it was at Royal Rumble or No Mercy or even Survivor Series but they brought edge back because smackdown will get better

This was a great PPV, I enjoyed all the matches (even the Divas match). It really deserved a 8.0.
I am pleased Hardy won the belt, but I really don't know what they are going to do for the Smackdown main event of Wrestlemania now. I'm thinking they are gonna do a Fatal four way - Edge, Koslov, Triple H, Hardy - with possibly Koslov winning.

......You could kind of feel like he was gonna win but you didn't think so at the same time. When he hit that swanton and covered Edge I stood up and cheered.
You watch this guy for so long and he gives so much with his body
and if anyone had any doubts whether this guy should be champ
you should after the match how he goes around the ring slowly and highfives everyone in the first row up the ramp. Then he starts taking off his bands and throwing it to people.

I didn't see Summerslam or Survivor Series this year. Partially cause I was broke
and partially the cards didn't intrigue me. This was a good card and I had some money so I got it.
It's weird watching that match, because it's like watching your favourite team in a game 6 on the verge of winning a championship, like wow this could be the night.

Yea I dont think the hbk segment was great, but he always makes the best of of whatever he does, like when he said the stuff bout not being another wrestling tragedy was pretty strong. i really enjoyed the endings to both maing events and also punk vs rey, he got him up so high for the gts. I was pretty suprised bout hardy but when cena retained that kinda made ya think a little the title was changing hands in the last match, i did jump up for Jeff tho!

Armageddon has never been my favorite PPV, but this one was pretty sweet. I think Miz and Morrison won the Tag Titles because of Punk going for the IC Title.
I like Hardy winning the title, but I would have booked it differently. I would have had Edge win, via dirty tactics. Then have Edge defend against Triple H at the Rumble and win again via dirty moves. But then have Hardy win the Rumble, and build up to WM 25 with Edge vs. Jeff Hardy for the WWE Title. But that's just me.

yes RVD got caught with sabu on the road for dope he dropped the belt like the next week RVD has commented that Vince was extremely disapointed with him and RVD also says that he thinks thats one reason vince changed the ECW style more to what it is now as opposed to a hybrid that we were seeing in the begning because he didnt have the ecw star power like he had with wcw

RVD was never fired. He left the company when his contract was up, and the WWE didn't screw him. They gave him the belt and then he got arrested like a week later with pot and painkillers. RVD screwed himself

In my opinion the crowd was dead the entire night and in the end it ended up sort of killing the Hardy title win for me. I can understand during the opener and even the majority of the CM/Rey match (it started off slower then their styles would have thought)
But going deeper into the card it started to make the show feel bad, it might just be because they didn't mic the crowd but it sounded like after the Cena match there were next to no cheers and the same thing after the Hardy win.

the HBK/JBL segment was probably only done so they could have a use for them on the ppv. though guys like Taker, Big Show and Kane still were left off this ppv so leaving HBK and JBL off wouldn't have been so bad.

Good review really good PPV I was convinced to go halves on it last minute with a buddy of mine and I don't regret it. WWE is consistently putting on better PPVs than TNA even Survivor Series was better than Final Resolution.
Still waiting for the years biggest card in UFC 92 with the big Affliction show in January and the Rumble followed by St. Pierre vs Penn 2 in February....I'm gonna be broke by Spring but I guess that's what friends are for, eh?

Thank you Truthslayer for explaining about the Jeff Hardy situation. The surprise of a title change on a throwaway PPV is one of those essential things the company can do to make you care. It's better than drawing it out as long as you could until a title win doesn't even matter. *cough* Samoa Joe *cough* This is a good move by WWE. The company made me care. CM Punk's MITB cash in was an example of a must watch surprise and so was Jeff's title win.

Even though I'm not a big Jeff Hardy fan, it's pretty cool to see him win the championship. Hopfully this will also motivate him to become more responsible with his job and not be a loose cannon.
