"You could say it has a multi threaded, abstract narrative with subliminal undertones": yes you could say this on the other hand perhaps there is a gestalt narrative operating here.
A gestalt narrative encompasses the sense of a mutli threaded and even subliminal elements in the narrative flow and also accounts for the nature of narrative in a static image for example. It also unpacks the 'liminal' nature of this kind of work but doesn't rely on a linear timeline to conceptualise narrative.
