Currently re-watching all the series of Hadleigh. Must say I think 'Anne' would have made a much better wife for 'James' than the awful 'Jennifer'.!!!
An excellent scene from the supurb series Hadleigh, played supurbly by Jane Merrow and the late Michael Billington (The man who should have been Bond!)
I have all four series of Hadleigh on DVD and would recommend them strongly to anyone who appreciates high quality television drama. Supurb scripts/excellent acting. You really loose yourself in this stuff! Series four even has an excellent 'making of' documentary which features nearly all of the main cast.
Oh I adored this series! I always felt it was the life waiting for me. Well I got it. Kind of. But not in the way I thought it would happen. I was waiting for the rich man to sweep me off my feet. And it was me who did it! Yes it was me who made myself rich. Funny how life turns out isn't it!
Well after my second marriage ended I realised with overwhelming clarity, that the only person who can ever make a success of you....is you. So I worked hard but used the money I made to invest in gaps I saw in the market....any market. There are always gaps if you look hard enough. Even during a recession you can supply something that people need.
Number 1 rule to always apply.
Be kind. Do things from a good and honest place. Go the extra mile.
Some of the most successful businessmen have been declared or faced bankruptcy before they became successful. It's a learning curve and "Never take your eye off the ball" is one of the biggest.lessons
It's not easy being self employed and anyone who is or tries it, deserves respect. Kudos to you for having the guts to do it. I know it may not feel good right now but anyone who has the balls to strike out on their own won't stay down for long. Good luck.
The Hadleigh series' were superb; I have them on the Network dvd sets--its remarkably well remembered, I asked at work and lots of people remembered it. I have vivid memories of it transmitted at the time, and have really enjoyed the dvds.
Wow indeed. Jane Merrow, who appeared in virtually every cult British TV show, and a quite few US to boot. Lovely to see you here. Now whatever happened to Suzan Farmer?
