  • He is not doing is right cuz basically when u're doing high kick ur head and ur upper body must be almost behind the kick that u're throwing and executing :) dude! pause at 0:20 ! it looks awesome and perfect but imagine if ur opponent answers u right away with the right middle kick :) Ur head blows up! :) It's good to have a great appearance but u can't take these into the fights cuz if u kick like that they will fuck u up right away ;) but besides all of em good job it looks good

  • @ArmanSamurai Don't be ignorant. (It's a STRETCH, for a REASON.). Of course you wouldn't take this into an actual fight/kumite/spar/whatever...I­t's like saying you wouldn't do the splits in the middle of the fight...

    All he is doing is isolating his stretch.

  • the benefit of being able to kick that high (this is just a stretch) is that when you kick lower there are less likely chances of injury, you are able to be concise, quick, powerful as a snap with least effort. If you are not a flexible person and you try to kick you may injure yourself, struggle to lift your leg, etc... there definitely is benefit to it. It's not all 'show'... thats just ignorance.

  • Some form to the kick would of been nice. Swinging your leg up isn't really anything.

  • Are you serious? Only people with high flexibility stretch like that. There is no need to do the Van Damme style of stretching for the technique...it's only a roundhouse kick using the ball of your foot. In reality there is no need to kick that high at that rang. I know it looks cool but come on.

  • im a 5"3 guy im flexible i can kick someone who is about 5"11 in the head.. although i think i can kick alot higher if i jump.. although i havent tested it on my 6"3 friend yet

  • actually im really flexible i do kick like that when i get up in the morning the first thing i do is stretch for a couple seconds by kicking that high.. keeps my leg at its best height all the time

  • I totally agree with furrytractor85, andto kick yoo geri or mawashi geri you have to stretch out your hip, he is holding his hip back on the video.

  • this is a terrible way to stretch, you need to hold your leg up for 10 seconds then drop it. research ballistic stretching which is what you are doing and you will realise its the worst way to increase your flexibility. also someone said it hurts them, as a side note, stretches should never hurt or be uncomfortable.

  • wow amazing man! keep it up, don't listen to rchapel, it won't cause you to need hip surgery if anything it will help prevent it as not using your hips is more likely to cause you damage than using them.
