  • 85 ? thought wilf had left already

  • Fuck those who disliked this.

  • colin was soooo hot , we used to go see them all the time, it rocked and was fun cobain didnt like it, though

  • What is funny, it was filmed by HBO, not MTV. I was there, and watched 2 weeks later on HBO. It was a fantastic show......

  • I was at this show. There were fucking MTV cameras all over the place but they had a booth set up at the bottom of the seating across the pit from the stage. Decent show but The best GBH show I ever saw was at the On Broadway in San Francisco CA in 84' or 85, Black flag played and were good but when GBH came on the place ERRUPTED in a frenzy of craziness I LOVED IT! I was hooked. GBH is playing this June 20th in San Jose CA. They are on tour in the US so check their website. Spaz"

  • the network two logo you see at the start of the clip is the old name for rte two ,the second state tv channel in ireland ,they showed this in the late eighties one night totallly out of the blue ,i taped the whole thing ,i was more excited about gettin the dickies ,plain wrap, raw power and the breakouts songs but GBH is pretty good aswell, this was amazing to see cause you never saw fuck all punk on tv in lreland back then! brings back the memories!

  • That guy was right about what he said.Except for the patriotic part

  • What's going on with his hair? Is it nylon or an over hairsprayed sweepover?

  • Awesome!!!

  • WHOA..I remember this ! The Dickies opened up for them here! And this was played on MTV when MTV was really cool to watch afterdark!

  • how could someone watch this show and not think "what was that guy talking about? this music is the shit!" haha

  • what an assmonger, GBH is fucking great.

  • I had this video on betamax back in 86" and some dumb ass borrowed it and never see it again ...i like the dickies part and also the breakouts lookout ! its a sk8er song.

  • that guy doesnt know anything about punk

  • whahaha what a dickhead at the beginning :P

  • AHAHA I remember this dudes show back in the day

  • This is the first punk band I ever saw live back in 89. Excellent band! One of the best to come out of Britain IMHO.

  • this concert was part of a special on mtv wasn't it?? had cjerks and dickies and other shit. you guys remember that/ i taped it and watched it so much back then it just disappeared. always looked for it too....is this cilp frm that?

  • Yeah I found that copy on ebay...i couldnt let it pass me by...Awesome Punk Show out of the real MTV!

  • it was on MTV in '85. The bands were Dickies, Plain Wrapped, Breakouts, Raw Power and GBH. MTV should show it again so the kids today will see that they still haven't done a damn thing that hasn't already been done better.

  • Yes, this is off that show, I remember it well, I taped it as well when it came on and lent it to a flake never to be seen again.

It interviewed kids on the street with liberty spikes that used knox gellitan to stick it up ha ha.

It was GBH, Raw Power, The dickies and can't remember the rest.

Does anybody know what the show was called so we can look it up on here?

Def a classic before MTV turned to shit!

  • now i see where dad used to hang around back in the eighties..WAW!!! should get some opinions changed now bout the guy..

  • Isn't diplomatic immunities from the guy on Lethal Weapon 2?

  • GBH is the best hardcore punk band ever...it sounds like they wanna kill everybody. WOnderful Song BTW

    Charged GBH 4 life !

  • @Heavymetalpower666 It would be a honor to get killed by the sound of their fuckin' music.

  • Actually that "Business" man Is a pretty cool guy he was one of the first Host to actually call on KKK members and other Rascist or assholes to his show and call them out that guys a Pioneer. And FUCK EXPLOITED! Fucking gay rockstars is all they are

  • hey to the guy who called colin a deuchefuck you!!!

  • get the fuck out of here and take the exploited with you. G.B.H. ONLY! BellendBop = peace punk

  • they are not peace punk

  • no GBH man!

  • what a fucking deuche! look at his hair pfffwhahaha!

  • the guy in the beginning is fucking stupid, what the fuck does this business man know about what punk is

  • If I'm not mistaken, that guy is father to all the Arquettes (Rosanna, Patricia, David, etc.).

  • His daughter is the chick from Risky Business

  • Yeah that dude is a fool,it's Wally George,he had a local show here in California through the 80s,Republican dude talking shit but it was kind of a put on act

  • Yes this was at the olympic and before the show the band was hanging out at zeds

  • I remember this show in LA. They(MTV)bursh! taped it as "Punks&Poseurs" but it had NOTHING to do with MTV it was about the show at the Grand Old Olympic. What a venue! and Goldenvoice to boot. The scene was punk rock! no riot this time...until...? well, EXPLOITED?

  • I used to have this entire show too off MTV...EXCELLENT.

  • i think it was maybe Breakouts...breakout?? The Plain Wrap song is Lookout.

  • anyone remember the other bands? Gbh, Dickies, Raw Power, Plain Wrap and some band with a guy with a mohican...whats the name?

  • it was the breakouts or the lookout or was that the name of the song.

  • I sen them in 87 and till today nothing was more awesome live then them

    absolutely mindblowing

the pa who dimmed the guitar must be impaled

  • woow reading through tht i learnt more than i learnt at school and college haha greta video

  • Hah! I had this entire show on VHS (transferred to DVD now). I remember Wally George getting kicked off of the Arsenio Hall Show. I also have a Flipside video with Youth Brigade mentioning Wally George.

  • Wally George's tv show was such a joke. OC Punk kids were always trying to be in his audience just to get on camera.

  • What was his show about? I don't think I've ever heard of it before, was it local to LA only?

  • It was local to Orange County or "The OC" but you could get it in LA and that's probably as far as it went. Wally was a minor right wing TV trash talker who had a bit of noteriety because of the intended theatrical, sensational nature of his show. But he did it before Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, Jerry Springer, Geraldo, etc. Plus his daughter was the actress Rebecca de Mornay from the Tom Cruise movie Risky Business.

  • wally georges show was hilarious!

  • i am so glad that you posted this....i haven't seen this in over 20 years...god bless technology and punk rock...

  • That guy talking about the violence etc, was Wally George, a right wing lunatic that had his own TV show in the 80's. It was hilarious.

  • is the beginning talking about the GBH show or just video's of punk's being dumbasses? i sort of agree what the tv announcer guy says about punks though. the dumbasses really fuck everything up. that's why the movement will never be as strong as it was back in 77

  • I don't mean that they turned down the guitar at the show. I mean the MTV audio guy must have turned down the guitar or something when they recorded the show. Sort of like how loud guitar bands will sometimes get turned down when they play on late night shows.

  • Whoa haven't seen this in 21 years. This was originally broadcast on MTV as part of some punk rock special. That's why Colin says "you'd better be on your best behavior because the eyes of the world are upon us." This was filmed in LA at the Olympic auditorium on GBH's third tour of America. If you notice, MTV annoyingly turned down the guitar for the entire set so all you can hear are bass, vocals, drums.

  • Hey there, your right it was an MTV special called "Punks and Poseurs" which i've heard is like the 2nd and last time they ever cared about this scene :) Wow I had no idea that MTV turned down the guitars, thats pretty lame. Do you think they had access to the soundboard to turn it down? I thought it was just MTV showing up with cameras and filming.
