I really like this show. :) It's almost as if I'm there along with what's happening. :) It seems a lot more real in a relaxed manner to me.  Everyone is really mellow and they care about each other. :D

I'm an American who thinks the UK versions of Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares are far superior to the US versions. I love the dry British humor (I may be one of the few Americans who loved every episode of Are You Being Served and Keeping Up Appearances.) I also think Marco Pierre White is WAY better than Ramsay. Season 4 of HK with Marco is outstanding, why can't I find season 3 anywhere on youtube?

I'm an American as well and also prefer the Brit versions of Ramsay's show. However, just comparing solely his Brit shows, this one isn't that great, and only because of the amount of the presenter in the show. That does get better as the season progresses though. They start to focus less on explaining things through the presenter and more on the people in the kitchen. Any way you slice it, I'd rather watch the UK Hell's Kitchen any day. The production of the U.S. version is just crap.

I think angus deyton (presenter) fails to break the international comedy barrier. I'm british and i find his dry quips are delivered perfectly. However reading comments from US viewers it seems they find him unbearable. I think british comedy in general is less accessible and possibly difficult to embrace. Theres more emphasis on traditionally pompous camaraderie rather than point blank humour

I am not downing British television or any thing, I like the basis of the UK show with celebs who are ignorant in the kitchen cooking. The announcer though is so bland and boring, and there is way to much of him and not enough in the kitchen action. He for some reason has to explain all the upcoming events, then show them, then re-cap them. In an hour show there is 15 minutes of cooking, and 45 minutes of the bland talking. Do this concept, set up like the US and it would be awesome.

Angus Deaton's commentary has an element of good old british humour - coarse, dry and sarcastic... classic, but like other comments below, there is just too much of him and not enough of good ol Gordon giving out grief. I'm from the US and I like the UK announcer- he's constantly snarking away totally deadpan. NOTHING about the US version is other than full-on, high-drama, full of itself. I think Ramsay has to be humorless and brutal with the Americans because they'll run amok without a tight leash. With the Brit celebs, he seems to know they'll be more delicate, whereas the Americans are just thickheaded most of the time.
