  • idiots the busa is not a super bike, maight as well say the zzr1400 is a super bike, big engine and thats it, y do you think they dont race them, een an old srad 750 would kane a busa on a race track because they corner like american cars....that is to say they dont, if you wanna go fast in a str8 line, if not buy a ktm and kick all arse, ment to compeate agaisnt propprt super bike like the zx10r and r1, only reason a busa would beat one is if the ktm fell over loling!!!!

  • only 2 things i hate about it first is the headlight and second is the price 20k is to much for any bike

  • you do reilize that the Busa and ducati are superbikes to right? just they are mostly for drag and lot street like the zx6 and 10 or Gixer 600-1000

    the ducati streetfighter is 18k

    RSV 1000 by aprilla is 17k

    i think the RC8 is designed with the racer in mind because of how short the wheelbase is and this commercial flat out shows you why

  • you need to look at it this way 13k for a busa is cheap dude 20k for any bike is way to much thats the end of this disscussion

  • true... but i love KTMs... i think 20k for a track bike is good.... a busa is cheap no doubt but i like the look of this much better and surprisingly its a V-twin

  • Perhaps we should just wait a few years to see what happens with 1000+cc V-twins like this one. Right now, I think they have a lot of potential! Just look at the Australian Vee-Two Super Squalo. Would you believe a V-twin bike like that would spank a bike like the Hayabusa in The Isle of Man? Well, it did. I can see a lot of great things coming from Europe in the next few years. And yes, a Japanese I-4 has more power at higher revs. But, do the japs have enough style for the sophisticated? :D

  • The nearest to the KTM is apparently the blade at a quoted 199kg fully loaded according to honda.

  • Get a clue. The KTM is a V-twin. A Katana (GSX) isn't even a sport bike. I'll give you the benifit of the doubt and say you accidently missed the "-" and "R" keys when typing GSX-R. Back to point a CBR, GSX-R, R1, etc., etc. are all I4 bikes. Totally different class. This is meant to compete with the Buell 1125R, Ducati, Aprilia, and other similar bikes. As for looks, that's all relative. I think the Hayabusa proves that point.

  • Wow, you're even more clueless than I thought. I even spelled it out for you. IT'S NOT PRODUCED TO COMPETE WITH THOSE BIKES. It's a v-twin. And the funny part is the performance specs are right there and above many of the I4 bikes. Please do your research and maybe you won't look so much like a moron the next time.

  • Wow, someone else sharing their wealth of "knowledge". Show me another current litre bike that weighs less than this. And I'm counting the lightweight I4 bikes. The lightest is the ZX-10R weighing 444lbs, which is still more than 200kg. A 5 year old R1? It produces nearly the same HP. The KTM has around 14 more ft. lbs. of torque. And the KTM weighs more than 14 lbs less. Want to talk some more about it now?

  • Umm...the zx10r weighs 179kg FACT. produces over 188bhp...more like 195 with ram air...also a "fact" and it costs about £8500 new.and im glad u admit that it cant pump out more horses that a bike made five years ago..rc8 is made to compete with dukes eh?....says it all really.

    But my main point is power curves...oh sorry...have you ever ridden a bike before?

  • It took you 4 months to come up with that. I knew by the first post it was bad, but that takes the cake. You're talking dry weight, not wet. And yes it may have a few less HP than that R1, I never said it didn't. You were the one acting like the R1 was out of it's league with less TQ and more weight. And yes They're built to compete with Ducati. It's a V-twin sportbike not I4, different demographics. And no I've never ridden a bike. (where's that sarcastic smilie when you need it)

  • Thats right...it was on my mind for 4 months...actually i just veiwed this page again! its a nice looking bike, but i was really having a poke at KTMs outrageous claims for this bike, go and have a look at the web site and see all the marketing lies...its not one of the lightest bikes out there, far from it. neither one of the most powerfull, also far from it. if it had a propper inline 4... and wasnt almost a full £2000 more expensive than most faster / lighter bikes...

  • Don't tell me you believe that KTM is the only company that stretches the truth. And for this to be a fair comparison we'd have to have weigh the bikes on the same scale with a full fluids. Either way the bike is far from heavy and underpowered. And a proper I4? Sounds squidly to me. Like I've said different demographics here. Personally I would and do take the V-twin torque curve over an I4 anyday. As for pricing you have to look at the options it has.Brembos, WP suspension, trellis frame.

  • incredible bike!! (gonna cost 10,500 sterling just if u don't kno). also has a pivot to adjust the swingarm to adjust seat height, so even shorties (like me) can ride it. sat on it today at the NEC and it felt perfect!!
