@ManSkiSkeet She rolled it out into a cane, that's how it gets smaller. A cane is basically a cylinder, and since the volume is the same before and after, the formula for finding the volume of a cylinder applies (V=pi*r2*h). So as the length increases, the radius decreases by a lot more since it's squared.
cool! um can u tell me after u bake it for 7-10 minutes at 110 degrees is it still like easy to cut or rock hard or hard but just hard enough for u still to b able to cut it?
@towainmyheart I think it depends on a) what your making and b) what clay you are using. There are many different types and they tend to have different baking times. Follow the instructions on your packets for times i would. Also, this person is making a cane that could be used with other non baked things and would be baked again, it doesnt have to be baked for long, just long enough so it doesnt go out of shape. However if its something thats a final peice it might need longer for strength.
I might just be confused but it looks so big when you are putting all the slices and pieces together and they its tiny when you have the finished cane. Why is that?
Great video though :) I'm gonna try when I figure it out!
Thank you very much. You are very talented and I would definetly pay you to have a key chain! To add texture to the orange skin scrunch up a ball of tin foil and roll it over the skin. It makes it bumpy and life like almost!
I make polymer clay creations too and use a lot of videos on YouTube to inspire me, and your videos are definitely some of them! You are so talented! I was just wondering: How old are you? :)
@GentlemanBunny i want to make this but i dont want it to crack because most of my clay figures have been cracking. Any tips? btw i dont bake them because i dont know how i should bake! :/
@xovictaperxo well that happened to me a BUNCH of times to prevent your colors from blending or smearing put your cane after its rolled in the fridge for a few minutes then take it out i dont bake it but u can if u want then cut it with a sharp kitchen knife! thats what i did and it worked GREAT :) hope it helped!
