There's a good chance he's become bored with Neon Ballroom and Diorama, just like Frogstomp and Freakshow. I think that's why his performances are a bit...err....loose for those albums lately.
To be honest, I really dont like their latest album. But that doesnt mean its shit. Its just not my kind of music. It seems that people confuse "shit" with "not their taste." Its annoying.
i have eaten a fat one. and it was still a hell of alot better than listening to this performance. dude Silverchair is my fav band. thats why i'm so critical. they honest suck right now. sorry.
is it just me or does he seem to be trying to look as old and stereotypically manly as he possibly can? Ben and Chris seem to have gotten alot better to compensate though.. here's hoping they can pull Daniel through what looks like a coke addiction, beat the shit out of paul mac, and slap some sense back into Daniel... and write a good 7th album ofcourse
hehehe, but you have to keep in mind that every album they make is different, with the excepetion of frogstomp and freakshow maybe, cuz they're pretty similar to each other; so the chances of they completely change their style once again on their 6th record are high. anyways, i like all their albums, but the one that i like less is YM indeed.
actually freak show is a fair bit more experimental than frogstomp, frogstomp is prettymuch 90's mosh band music while freakshow has tracks like Cemetery, Petrol & Chlorine, pop song for us rejects.etc... i think they're quite different just when you think of freakshow you think of slave and freak.
and its not that the next album will be like young modern... but that they might approach the writing and recording with a similar attitude to young modern
yeah, i guess freakshow had the same style of frogstomp, but was more evolved. i remember one interview daniel gave in 2003 i think where he said that their next album would be something like diorama mixed with heavier stuff. he lied. i hope their next album could be something like that....
Yeah I remember that; he said they'd be returning to some heavier sounds - but they never did. People said they mellowed out cos little Daniel fell in love and lost all his angst.
it would be really nice if they did something beutiful like diorama but heavier. i hope the next album will be like that, but i don't suppose it's gonna happen
This song never gets old!!!! I love Neon Ballroom. We need more songs like the first three albums and less of the Progressive 'poppy' style music of late. Silverchair rule the world!!!!!
still awesome :)

I think the best emotion sickness version is the one on the Across the great divide DVD, genius band! and also a Great! DVD!!!
Nvais 3 years ago
this is definately the best version of emotion sickness i know..
ive got the 'across the great divide' dvd, and they didn't turn up his guitar enough so ya couldn't hear the awesome solo!
also i love the change in his voice from wen they toured for diorama.. its more louder and open..
god bless you daniel, chris, and ben!
