What spell/shout is that where you charge forward? Or is that shield charge? 0:37. Also, is there a way to hotkey quick-swap the casting hand only and keep shield on the left (I play on Xbox ):)? I tried binding that first Fire spell on Left D-pad and Spark on Right D-pad, and when I hit the button it swaps out my shield and uses dual-casting rather than Shield+Fire to Shield+Spark or vice versa. 0:52 for reference.
@jamesyla You should be able to press right or left trigger to choose which hand it goes into that works for me as I always switch out my shield for a healing spell
oh and dont underestimate illusion. think about wat u could do w a shield and a master spell that lets u frenzy everyone in a massive aoe. or calm everyone. or if u go alteration you can get aoe paralysis. mmm gettin stiff just thinkin about it

I am lvl 9 dark elf atm, going for heavy armor - all perks, destruction - all perks exept frost, going fire and shock. On blocking I want to do the left "tree" for resisting arrows, deflect magic+power bash. Also going for some restoration - respite, recovery and regeneration. considering some conjuration too
This is working very well, an awesome build I would say;D That's what I love about this game, do whatever fits your style of play.
This is actually a good combo. Shield bashing stuns, and block perks can make shield 50% reduction in elemental spell damage to you + power bashes. You could also use a torch in your left hand + fire vulnerability spell in left to reduce enemy fire resist, then "block" with your torch and do a shield-bash maneuver to light them on fire. I think some dual-weilders underestimate how great shields can be.
@therandomdot its a good build. eventually you could make yourself 100% resistant to magic when blocking. i think most people just like to go for killing things in 1 shot which is cool n all but shields make me feel like im really in a fight. get you some daedric armor n shield w enchants and this class will be unstoppable
