I think we all learned that evolution is good to a certain point , then it goes on a downward spirall of ridiculus gore and little girl ghosts popin in and out of sceness
The only things hat really scare me are things jumping out and that feeling that something will jump out but your friend/ girlfriend's right there, so you can't avert your eyes. The only exception is Exorcist, which didn't have any jumpy parts, but was scary, and every movie made after 1999, which have jumpy scenes, but aren't.
Theres no sense of explanation in your video, it's just one big messy montage, and includes a lot of films that dotn't fit into an examination of the 'evolution' of horror, ie: remake after remake after remake. Also, your music choices were horrible, overwrought and noisy, like Van Helsing or anything else that's modern and loaded with special effects.
@zatchparker a good film never needs to be remade just because here is better technology available now, and frankly I disagree anyway - modern CGI effects tend to show everything but have no real effect. They are over relied upon in place of storytelling and character development. No one seems to realise that a messy demise is only as interesting as the character that's dying. You needto be invested in the character to care what's happening to them - prrime example, Hostel.
I know, There are few horror movies that I'll watch these days do to them being grouse. That's why I like the old school kind. I wish there were more good scary movies and not all this buckets of blood crap that there is now.
I know, There are few horror movies that I'll watch these days do to them being grouse. That's why I like the old school kind. I wish there were more good scary movies and not all this buckets of blood crap that there is now.
@Puolakanaho No perkule pari semi-kauhuleffaa sinne joukoon iloiseen joutunut. :D Vahingossa lipsahti.
People say today's horror movies are shit but I'v been watching horror movies for many years and paranormal activities is one of the scariest I've ever seen
When it goes from 20 decimals to 80 decimals. Or also the violence. Older movies like Alien made you feel trapped. The newer movies mostly focus on violence.
Actually when people think of horror movies they think of blood and gore... I myself prefer to get scared in horror movie from a sudden scene or something like that. Not laugh my eyes out as I witness how someone gets decapitated ... :D Seriously. That's my point of view. I'm not saying that new horror is bad ( well most of it is frankly funny and not scary at all ) but I do think that a horror movie should not be only - hack, slash, blood, gore and heads falling off. Thank you for reading :)
@aGuyFromPleven - no, you're right; at some point hollywood confused horror with slasher. the real horror movies are the ones that don't explain a lot and leave you to fill in the blanks, or aren't overly gory. one example for each: "They" and "Human Centipede" in my opinion
It may be coincidence but did you mean to put some horror movie classics in slow motion like silence of the lambs and scream and Halloween and Nosferatu?
thanks for the vid! i haven't watch almost half of the movies on the list. im watching Nightmare on Elm street series now. lol. old movies are hard to find T_T old horror movies are the best :D
I don't wanna insult you or anything, but that is deffinetly NOT Ju-On:The Grudge, that's The Grudge.I know it because I've got both Ju-On and The Grudge. That is the scene in which Takako Fuji, impressed all the american cast memebers of The Grudge,by doing all that you see with NO special effects,or wires or anything. She just crawled down the simple stairs!
