i agree, right when that robot went into auto pilot, it saw and realised the hostiles hurting one of the aliens(former human) so it took action. when the militias tried to shoot back, the robot released a magnetic field in front of it, catching all of the fired bullets into a what a looked like a sphere and then shot it back like a shotgun shell. when i saw that scene, my jaw dropped!

Can't wait for the directors cut of this. I heard there were just so many scenes, documentary style, and action scenes that they had to cut for time restraints. I would imagine the directors cut could easily have at least an extra hour or two of interviews and crazy action scenes.

On the contraversy - we give aliens land and we take it - think Palistine - The Nigerians are trading and running scams - how interesting, they have Alien Gangs - US has Illegals all over the place with gangs growing by the hour... there's a lot of endepth story - than just the story,,,,,,, "creative" - I'm still gonna complain - I'm going to have to wait for DVD to see all the cut footage,,,, and " D9 The Promise" Peter Jackson - take notes !!!!!!!!!!!!! make it work :))

The movie was missing a LOT OF SCENES ..?? which would supported more - I hate when they cut from the film for time restriction - !! the ads show - 2-3 ships ..?? power lines going up to the ship..? so much..?? but not in this movie..? Besides all of that - it was a good movie - I am looking forward to " Distric 9 The Promise "

The ads never showed more than one ship. The original short film that this movie was based on, "Alive in Joburg" had multiple ships and power lines sucking out electricity from the ground but those ideas didn't fit with the overall story so they cut them for District 9. In District 9 the aliens are literally at our mercy, do you really think we'd just let them run cables from their ships to the ground no matter what reason they gave us?
