I miss going into HK on U.S. flag vessels as Chief Refrigeration Engineer. I would take 6 months off and still make $100,000.00. And I was my own boss. I had massive autonomy and jurisdiction over all refrigeration machinery. The Chief Engineer wasn't even allowed to touch the air conditioning or anything. The crane operators only made $10.oo per hour in HK at that time. I became a west coast longshoreman/ refrigeration mechanic at $50.oo per hour. LIFE IS GOOD!
The planning department is going to axe this railway - port- truck 3 way container yard , because they think it is taking up valuable TST-Hung Hom sea side, but it many of us think it is a joy to watch all this operation.
The lashers would sleep on the ship by the house on cardboard. I would walk by and say "is that a Serta?"

It's so simple to do 7-10-15% of growth it you work that way using people like animals. And I can imagine the wage of those workers.
