This is cool...My two favorite plants are this plant and the TickleMe Plant. .. TickleMe Plants close all their leaves and lower their branches as soon as you Tickle them. You can see a video of the plants in action and get all kinds of kits to grow your own (very easy) at ticklemeplant com
My kids run to class to greet and tickle their plants. We grow them year round indoors. The TickleMe Plant Book we bought shows us how to get the plant to flower even during our winter
... I desperately want to grow this ... !!! Thanks for posting this video... I did not believe in moving plants, until I saw this... and.... WOW just WOW!
Most people would be amazed if they really took a little while to realize the amazing things that have developed/evolved on this planet, yet most have no qualms with destroying acre upon acre of old growth forest for some damned golf course or housing development... Damn shame cause the things we've driven to extinction in our short dominance are usually the most interesting!
@maddcatone If something doesn't come along soon enough to at least lower human population drastically, we could end up turning our planet in another Mars or Venus. Even if we find a way to recycle wast, clean the air, etc. we still would have a population problem. If the population continues to grow, we will end up killing ourselves and everything else with us.
I agree. But they're already working on it. Just learn how to grow your own food, process your own water, and dispose of your waste efficiently. Become self sufficient and hope you're one of the survivors 8)
It's the Desmodium gyrans (Telegraph Plant), this plant moves its leaves in a gyrating motion when stimulated by touch, heat or light. Similar to the Dionaea muscipula (Venus Fly Trap) how it closes when stimulated by touching the small sensitive hairs. Only this is not a carnivorous plant like the Venus Fly Trap is. Another interesting plant is the Mimosa pudica (Sensitive Plant). This plant dramatically folds up its leaves when stimulated by touch, heat or wind.
I wasted 14 seconds of my life for this?
